Travel insurance for cyclists
I just noticed this and wanted to share...
While looking for some long term travel insurance (Note the "long term" part... ye-haaaaar!) noticed at least one company who had bike riding in their list of excluded activities. Ie. injuries suffered while riding would not be covered. WTF!!?
Why I bring this up is that if you're taking a trip O/S over the xmas/new year break be sure to read your travel insurance policy wording carefully!
FWIW, it's quite amazing some of the other exclusions they toss in there. No cover for any item left in a vehicle 'after dark' seems a common one.
Cascades update for 01 Dec
I rated the main track green the other day, but I rode the wider area today and the St Ives side is quite water logged. I would avoid riding between Quarry Hill to St Ives Acron oval and Lower Cambourne as both areas have a lot of large water logged areas and clay. The main Cascades trail is okay but looks like rain is on the way so it wont be much good soon.

tight twisting singletrack with some technical ups and downs a couple of short hike a bike bits but overall great fun riding,some stuff can be challenging but rewarding too, about 20 km of riding but because of the techy nature of these trails will feel like a lot more!

A brief but enjoyable ride around local trails - Some firetrail, some technical singletrack. Quick pace, but sure isn't a race.
Fast and fun
Best of a bunch of laps. Started at 2.40 ish then gardually took 4 seconds off each lap.
Its a mini Mt Stromlo Luge!
Awaba State Forest update for 30 Nov
The Blue Loop isn't too bad at all. Only a very small number of small wet potholes, but mostly okay. BUT - more rain is due today, tomorrow, etc...
3 things to watch out for. 1) LOTS of loose leaves and bark = slippery. 2) Leaves & bark hide sharp tree roots/rocks. 3) Drop bears.
