70mm of rain in the area in the last 7 days. This place muds up quickly, and will need a few days of sun to be rideable again.

Manly Dam is CLOSED weekend 26/27 Nov

Sorry to say, but as can only be expected after all this rain Manly Dam will be closed this weekend (26/27 Nov). See Manly Dam update for 25 Nov.

Interestingly this week there has been a rather heated discussion about the merits of the trail status system (aka. traffic lights - see Latest Trail Status feature) so at this point it's probably worth mentioning that this is a community site and relies on the interaction of that community for features like the traffic lights to stay current.

So a big shout out to all those who get involved and let everyone know about the status of local trails. Thank you Smiling

Hello Mountain Bikers,

Unfortunately it’s been a wet week and the forecast is for the rain to continue. Therefore we will be closing the track. It will remain closed for the weekend. We will re-evaluate conditions early next week and advise accordingly.

Kind regards,

Terrey Hills update for 25 Nov

Status:
Amber/Some Issues

With all this rain it's really the only place that you can ride without stuffing up the trails but that nice fine sand mixed with all that water is going to do some nasty things to your drive train. Head out here only if you're hanging for a some time in the saddle.

North Turramurra update for 24 Nov

Status:
Green/Open

I have not ridden this today, but I know from experience that this fire trail network holds up well under heavy rain and is often quite ridable between heavy showers. Please however, stay off the Jubes Mountain bike park as it is current closed due to wet weather.

Blue Mountains Sunday Early Morning

When:
Sunday, 27 November, 2011 - 06:30

The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.

Ride Database Entry:
The Oaks
Meeting Point:

Glenbrook station carpark.

Show on Google maps: Meeting point. Login or register to get directions.

Meet at Glenbrook and get the 6.53am train up to Wentworth Falls. Come back via Andersons and The Oaks firetrail. I am hoping it clears up a bit until Sunday, I don't intend to ride in the rain.

I have never done the Andersons, but have GPS Smiling.

I would appreciate feedback from some of the locals (Chuck, Username2?) whether we can or should ride the trails under the current weather conditions. I would assume that we should probably leave out The Oaks single trail and stay on the dirt road instead.

Cheers,
Volker

Cascades update for 24 Nov

Area:
Cascades
Status:
Amber/Some Issues

Havn't ridden but live and work local and the trail will be soaked and the creeks swollen.

It'll be rideable but will fill your drive train with sand and you may get washed away on a creek crossing.
