Winmalee
Behind the nursery on Hawkesbury rd.
Friday afternoon/evening ride around Winmalee.
To change things up a bit we'll start near the nursery and ride the sniggle then down the Grotto. From here we'll head up to Shaw's, ride along Shaw's then down into Bluegum. The challenge is going up Bee's Nest and make it past the last left hander, then on to the lookout. Return via Springwood Ridge and reverse sniggle.
Lights are probably not necessary, however Ill be putting at least my bar light on just in case.
Not too keen if it rains as the sniggle and grotto suffer badly in the wet.
See you there........
Back in the saddle, Perimeter & Long
Park opposite/beside Terrey Hills shops, corner Booralie Rd/Yulong Ave. Or in the small carpark next to the RFS station & community centre.
Finally, the Doc has given me the all clear to get back in the saddle after a 4 month recovery so picking an easy track to ease back into it. Just going to do Perimeter and Long out and back at a steady pace. Probably about 1hr 20min return to carpark. Anyone welcome to join, I am just happy to get back on the bike
Bmorc Ride Your Old/Childs Bike Oaks bash
Glenbrook station carpark.
Well BMORCer's - it's time to relive your childhood (although most of us have yet to grow up) and grab/steal your son/daughters/neighbours/mother in law's BMX, MTB, Roadie whatever and hit the Oaks for some ragged fun (Make sure your son/daughter/neighbour and especially mother in law is not on the bike at the time)
Guidelines are:
1) Bike not to be worth more than $200 new or needs to be over ten years old.
2) No disc brakes.
3) You have to carry it out with you even if it is stuffed.
4) All stacks are your own fault for riding such a heap of S*&t
5) No clipless pedals
Early Galston Gorge (Quarry Road Track)
End of Stewart Ave, Hornsby
Best way to start my Sunday morning before getting into a load of schoolwork. Part of my training for a race I'm hoping to compete in for my school, though won't be pushing it too much. Just crusing and pedalling up at a brisk but not painful (for me), so experienced riders are preferable.
Check out the trail page for more info, there's not much else to say!
Knapsack, In and around
North Gate, Barnet St
I plan to get there a little early and do a spider web sweep on a short section of trail b4 we ride it.
Parking is available either side of the gate on Barnet St, Parking is also available at the Skate park and Glanbrook Shops. This meeting spot is next to a residential area so volume will need to be kept minimal.
This social ride is an open invite so out of towners are welcome.
Ride is as discussed. Approx 15kms taking around 2hrs depending on Chat and regrouping time.
Im limiting the group size to 10 to keep regrouping at a minimal.
If we are feeling well and have time when we are next to the RAAF base. We can add an extension of riding.
Wingello
4Km SW of Wingello village on Caoura Rd there's a small base camp within the forest - seems as good a place as any.
Hi - I'm hitting up Wingello on Sunday morning. If I'm completely honest, its gonna be a bit fast for most peoples sunday ride - I dont wanna sound like a @#$% but 20kph is a fair indication of average speed for 3hrs.
I'll ride the red loop twice (the one including the wall) and probably some other bits.
I'm happy to cruise some bits as a group, but there will be sections where I am gonna be gunning it a bit. Probably 2 or 3 x 5-10mins efforts.
If you're keen, it would be great to have some company. If you are worried about pace, flick me a pm.
Yellowmundee
There's a car park (click for foggy picture) on Springwood Road - just down the way from Hawkesbury Heights if you're looking for a suburb name.
Easy social ride, maybe two laps...
And it's early to beat the heat...
Australia Day Morning at the Dam
King Street (near corner with Arana Street), Manly Vale. You know - outside Manly Hydraulics Lab.
Anyone for a quick lap of the Dam for Australia Day. I'm going to get one in before the day starts. Will be a social ride at a reasonable pace - about 35 - 40 minutes ride time and stops if needed.
Meet at King St by the Lab at 7.15am for 7.30am start.
Mt York Sunday Morning
Mt York Road, in Mount Victoria. You could probably park anywhere along here, and there's a decent sized area (with camping I believe) at the end of this road. That said, the junction with Berghoffer Drive/Lockyers seems the most sensible suggestion.
I know there is already a Knapsack ride on Sunday morning (sorry Andrea).
But Todd and I have been talking about Mt York at the same time so Ill post it up anyway. If anyone wants to join us we are meeting in the gravel carpark, GWH on the right after passing through Mt Vic where the council workers park apparently.
I can't remember what direction we're taking but Todd said an hr up uphill first so those who know the area will know what that means.
Best bet is to PM or ring Todd for directions as that's what Ill be doing.
Cheers,
Ian
Knapsack Sunday Morning
Glenbrook Oval, Hare St, Glenbrook NSW. Near the skate park. Ride down Moore Street to the start of trail that leads into the main park around the gate.
We ask visitors to please park here to not affect the residents. Plenty of parking plus amenities.
I can't make it to the Saturday morning ride due to work commitments, so I'll be heading out Sunday instead. Feel free to join me..
