2009 - Careflight Woodford to Glenbrook
Category: 30-39
OVERALL
I’d not ridden for 2 weeks due to health and rain. Struck down with the flu two weeks ago, I was sure I’d be fine by this event. I started to feel much better 1-2 days prior but am still far from 100%. My race time of 1:03 is faster than last year (1:07) but not close to my easily achievable goal of under 1 hour. If you divide my position (324) by the total active riders (578) and multiply by 100 you get 56. Which means I came 56/100. That’s a significant worse than last year (34/100). My ranking has slipped by 22% effectively.

Woodford to Glenbrook Classic
What a great day! Finally got to ride a dry track.

NRMA Woodford to Glenbrook Classic 2009
I had a pretty good race considering I was a bit hungover from watching the rugby the night before!
First time on the track and I pulled a 51.01 (16th in 30-39), riding a 14kg Heckler.
Was an awesome event although I wasn’t a fan of the ride back to the station after I had cooled down!!!

Three hour slog in the Jungle .....um forest
What a race this was , and even caught up with a few other Nobmob riders which had to be a first for a ride / race i have posted .

Christening the Yeti
This is just a record of set-up and impressions as I get the Yeti dialed for riding position, and suspension settings. Bike Addiction spent a lot of time (and with the way I chat that is a big lot) getting the bike set up, and teaching me what to look for and how the different adjustment relate to body mechanics. If you've never been pro fitted to a bike, I'd recommend paying for a session just to see what improvement can be made.
After a night, sleepless with exitement I rose to a slightly overcast morning, but no overnight rain. Perfect for an exploratory 20 km ride on the new beast.

Almost eight hours
What a day, I had a blast. I'm already looking forward to the next round
Everyone was so friendly, especially the race winner Mark Tupalski and one of the KOM shop riders I'm pretty sure it was Chris Smith. Each time they would overtake we would have a chat and they would always offer encouragement.
The track was in better condition than I was expecting, there has been a lot less rain at Appin then there has in the Northern Beaches over the last week.

25,000km service for the Scummer
After deliberating buying a new road bike, what with the exchange rate and having already updated my mtb race bike this year I decided to rebuild my trek scummer.

What a night to freeze my butt off
Well it was cold ...ish, quiet , there was another car parked there when i started and another when i finished and i didnt get to ride the place alone after all .

Chilly start
With a balmy 0 degress at 8.30 in Canberra , i unpacked the car and regestered for a "social" D grade . The past few days i have been suffering the dreaded "Man Flu" or slight cold as my wife says ....
