is 915 to wide for a handle bar?

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

While out browsing the net Ive come across what is called the Yard stick. The Handle bar is 915mm wide started out as an office joke but became a reality. You can try super wide or cut it down to make an ultrastrong 750 bar as this has increased wall thickness.

Can anyone tell me if there is a track from Kincumber Mountain that leads onto Picketts Valley Rd without going through someone's backyard?

Tool & tube storage options?

Hi Team

Historically I have used a canister in my second bottle cage to hold a tube, lever, co2 cartridge, co2 head, quick link and a $10 note. I like it because it's solidly mounted, quiet and fuss free. Unfortunately my new frame only has one bottle mount so I need an alternative, any suggestions?

Im not keen on saddle bags as they always seem to fall open. What else works for people? Id prefer something that's always on he bike

Killed my Garmin Edge 800 with OTB!

Went over the bars today, came away a bit shaken but apart from that, just a few scratches...... except for my Garmin Edge 800 which bore the brunt of a rather hard rock, smashing it's screen. The little fella was bravely beeping away on the inside, even though his screen was destroyed. Has anyone else cracked their 800 screen and what was the remedy/how much?

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Hiya CTMBC,

There's a few of us from Orange looking at doing a little pedalling around Sribblies (leura?) on Anzac day in the morning, then maybe something different after lunch.
Can anyone play guide, at least for a loop in the morning?

Cheers,

Mountain skating, anyone?

Might be the thing to try if you're sick of cleaning abrasive crud out of your drive train and brakes, and Muni's don't float your boat Eye-wink

Roval Carbon 29er Rim

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.
Below is a preview, click to read the full post

So was just prepping my 2011 S-works for the Pemberton race tomorrow and noticed a buckle in the front wheel, on closer inspection found a large crease in the rim, right inline with a spoke! the spoke appears to be pulling through the rim slightly. So she is pretty farked I'm thinking.

What to do?? I don't have a spare 29er rim. Can I just run a 26inch rim? thoughts? anyone have a spare lying around?

Also do you think there would be any sort of warranty or crash replacement through Specialized? at least a cheaper deal "I was just rind along when...."

Tathra MTB Enduro, April 22, 2012 - UPDATE

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Yes, It's been raining down in Tathra.

We've done a track inspection today. Wet - but not flooded or event fatal.
Most tracks are on the hill, water drains - and there are some puddles at the bottom.

Rest assured we have no intention of riding on wet or dangerous tracks. It creates too much track damage for us to mend. And too much costly damage for riders.

We are having another track inspection tomorrow morning. Weather is clearing and the forecast (if you put any faith in BOM) is drizzle clearing tonight. Fine for Saturday and Sunday. Plus some drying winds.

HMBA Patterson 3 hr race

Wanting to do this race on Sunday and was wondering if anyone closer to Singleton could give a first hand report on the rainfall they have had there in the past few days. This looks fairly promising compared to the CC and Sydney:

what tyre should i buy?

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

I'm running the stock/standard schwalbe hobby nic tyres on my giant trance and within 400km of medium paced riding I've gone through 3 tubes and some small tears in the tire, i think i need a harder compound but not sure which tire is ideal, i am mostly riding on gravel and a small amount of tarmac to the dirt.

thanks in advance

Panaracer Fire XC Pro Wiggle Buy

Guys,

I am going to purchase a Panaracer Fire XC Pro Folding Mountain Bike Tyre from Wiggle. To save on shipping (which is usually $25) I am thinking of purchasing two so it qualifies for free shipping. Is there anyone who would be interested in purchasing the second tyre of me for the same price it is online. Approx $40. I live in Western Sydney. just let me know if your interested.

Cheers
