Which bike is best for Annaconda
Help. I am a swimmer. I have no idea about bikes and have agreed to try to learn and do a duo for Anaconda in Augusta in November. I really need help.
1 as a mum after this event I am not so sure I will do too much off road biking (unless I LOVE it) and may do a triathlon (small fun distance) so I want a mountain bike I can use on road too if such a thing exists.
2 I am a chicken going down hill, at the moment, so want something with good brakes and that is light to help me up hills.
Can anyone tell me where to start and what to consider for my bike purchase, please.
headset...
I'd like to get a 'Cane Creek' headset for my bike. I have a tapered headset on my 29er. What specifically do I need look out for in terms of descriptions to purchase this headset?
Thanks heaps
Tender for iconic mountain bike experience on NSW State forests in the southern highlands
This came across my desk today http://tenders.nsw.gov.au/?c=3F8C8DFB. EOI closes 30-Apr-2012 2:00pm
My company just started and I'm not looking to take on a project this size, would consider helping out in a EOI. I've got the participation instructions if wanted, drop me a PM with email address.
How busy does Manly Dam get in the evenings these days??
Hi Folks,
I just wondered how busy Manly Dam gets in the evenings on a Tuesday-Thursday evenings these days?
Is there regular traffic through to 9 or 10 at night?
Only reason I ask is I dont want to be the only one on the track too late, just incase I come a cropper.
Cheers

Where to ride in the Warrumbungles
Heading up to the Warrumbungles near Coonabarabran at Easter and I am wondering if any of our group has experience riding up there. If so, let us know!
Lost on Oakes . . .
Hi all, I had a great ride on Saturday taking some newer riders on the Oakes - all had a blast. (A few nervous moments on the steeper/rougher down sections)

Manly Dam Bike Storage
I live nearby the Hydro Lab at Manly Dam and was looking at setting up some lockable bike racks and lockers for people to rent.
Would this be something people would be interested in? Maybe for those without access to roof racks/bike racks on their car?
It would be in a secure, lockable garage and I would estimate the cost to be ~$10/week.
Cheers.
Donwhill Easter
Hi there,
I am a 25 year old Aussie/South American living in sydney, I have a 4wd that can carry 3 bikes. Im planning a roadtrip departing from sydney 4-5th and returning the 9-10th of april. The idea will be to visit Downhill tracks across NSW.
If you got a DH/dirtjumper bike and are interested contact me and we can plan out the trip logistics over a few beers.
Cheers

Trail Maintenance
I'm new to NSW and am shocked by the amount of erosion, bog holes and water sitting on the MTB tracks around Sydney metro.
I’ve been involved in repairing and building legal tracks in WA, where a Department of Environment Officer is part of the team. Most of the problems facing the Sydney walking and mountain biking tracks seem to be related to reducing erosion. This is fairly easy and cheap but needs a bit of labour.
Now I have moved to Sydney I would like to help with track maintenance so that I can ride on good tracks in all weather.
Get a mental edge... participants needed
Most athletes will tell you that performance is all in the mind but the really successful ones don’t just say it, they believe it and they do something about it.
Imagine having:
• Laser sharp concentration
• Unshakeable belief and confidence
• Supreme mental toughness
• Higher levels of motivation
My goal is to change the field of cycle coaching in Australia by not just focusing on physical fitness but working on mental toughness as well. Racing is all about making decisions, there is no point being supremely fit if you don't have the confidence to make use of it.
Lost Medicare card manly dam
Hi guys and girls, lost my card i think in arana st - didnt need the ambulance- this arvo at manly dam. Any one seen it? Pm me if you do, cheers dom
Dang!
I went shopping this morning for a replacement for my Garmin heart rate monitor strap which carked it at the Mont, and bought a speed and cadence sensor as well, with the aim of fitting to my Cannondale Rize.
Got home, ripped open the packaging and read the instructions (yeah, I do that - weird, huh?) then went to put it on the non-drive side chain stay and .... stopped.
Bugger. How's this gonna work?
Anywhere rideable this weekend?
Is there anywhere where it'll be dry enough to do some decent riding this weekend?
Many dam?
Cascades?
Perimeter - long?

Convict 100
Hi all, I am a late entry to this event 50km, and as it is a good 2hrs drive from the Northern Beaches, I was wandering if anyone can giveme an idea of what time you have to be there for the 50km version, rego and stuff. If it is too early, may look at accomodation. Many thanks

La Nina Over?
The BOM is saying that the La Nina event is over. The only catch is we will return to average rainfall which is pretty high in Sydney, and April is on average the wettest month of the year.
I don't know how anyone else has been but I've half considered just not riding until the weather clears up - it has been so de motivating with so many rides and races cancelled or postponed.
Cross our fingers and we may have plenty of clear crisp days in Autumn and Winter.
