Planned 570km long track
Was out riding today and came across this sign and I got a little excited.
To sum up, a track/path is getting built from Brooklyn to Goulburn
Now the section in Penrith they are upgrading will have a shared path.
But I don't know if the entire track will all be shared access. I think it should be, and maybe we need to speak up.
I have done a quick google and all I have come up with are these 2 sites.
New Forks
Hi guys I just got some new forks for the bike was told to play with the stack height before I cut the steer tube.So whats the advantage of a taller stack and how much is to high before you get a cruiser not a trail bike.Just a small thing I have already gone 10mm more travel but will run more sag to comp.
This Sunday
Anyone keen on heading out on Sunday, I will preface this and say I am looking to put in some decent laps somewhere, however am not a A Grade rider by any stretch so wont be lightening quick.
Am thinking either Awaba or possibly even a trip to Wingello.
If Awaba prolly look to do 4 laps I would imagine.
Don't take this attack on Mountain Bikers
If you are reading this then I thank you for taking a break from your crack pipe or putting down your spray can.
WTF?!
Well as this is a mountain bike forum one assumes you're a mountain biker, and if one is to believe the labels put on us recently we are all involved in "... Vandalism, Graffiti and possibly widespread use of Drugs and alcohol...". That quote comes straight from a flyer that has been circulating in Hornsby to try and sway locals against a plan for mountain bike skills areas and trails.
It's a sad state of affairs that with no actual evidence, logic or reason to argue against a small, yet much valued mountain bike plan Ku-ring-gai council has approved, those who oppose the plan have resorted to throwing around wild accusations.
Yet the worst of it is that Ku-ring-gai council staff have actually listened to submissions based on this nonsense and changed their plans, scrapping part of the project, holding a second phase indefinitely and wasting funding on studies called for by various scaremongers. To be frank, it's disgusting.
To be clear, such a turn of events will affect much more than this one plan: If mountain bike riders are to ever receive fair treatment and planning for the facilities they require this council and other authorities need to be shown that the accusations levelled in the flyer are pure nonsense and riders will not stand to be labelled in this way.
If you too take offence at being labelled a vandal and drug addict just because you choose to ride a mountain bike please take a minute or so and write to the Ku-ring-gai council and let them know this. Let them know you are disgusted that they would lend any credence to such claims and modify already approved plans as a result. It might also help to mention if you support both stage one and two of the Golden Jubilee mountain bike plan and call for both stages to go ahead unchanged.
Please write to these councillors and the local politician, and explain all this as tactfully as you can:

Free postage on CRC
Hey I was just wondering if anyone in the northern beaches area is about to buy a large amount of gear to reach the free postage on Chain Reaction. I was wanting to get a helmet at $60 but the postage is at just under $40. I might be getting a bit more but my limit would be spending $100.
Thanks

Training Plans/Coaching
After taking a year off with lots of travelling, not much training and only a small amount of riding, I'm back into training again this year. Since New Years I've dropped 6kg and fitness has picked up a great deal. On Saturday for my last training ride before the Rocky Trail 100 mile went and did an Oaks, Ingar, Andersons & Oaks ride, finished with a ride time of 05:54:34 (profile at the bottom of post).

Clean up Australia Day - Single track on Mona Vale Rd
All,
Don't forget Clean up Australia day this Sunday. Do a little PR for the riders and stop and pick up some litter.
Two bike sites I know of are the Single Track on Mona Vale Rd meeting at the Kuringai Community Nursery at 8.30 or the Oxford Fall Downhill track, meeting at 9am.
See you there.

For those that commute this is encouraging. When talking about footage from helmet/handlebar cameras...
Police say they are willing to use the footage as evidence.
... although the police probably won't do anything unless you are hit and injured
