For those that still use tubes . . .
These seem reasonably priced at rrp US$8.99, well worth a try.

It'd be interesting to see how low you could run the pressure, though.
A good downhill track in Sydney?
Hey guys
Just want to know if there are any good downhill tracks in Sydney (not private tracks)?
I've been riding Oxford Falls heaps but I would like to ride something more like the Awaba or Ourimbah tracks.
A track with technical areas but also just flowy and jump sections would be great.
Tracks that would be good enough for state series are the ones im interested in.
Greater Sydney area only
Cheers
Suspension Foam Ring Cleaning?
I am servicing my forks for the first time. The SRAM website docs are pretty clear, & the YouTube SRAM videos are great. I'm ready to reattach the lower legs, but should I bother cleaning the foam rings inside the dust seal?
They really aren't that dirty, & I'd rather not replace the bushings completely considering my bike has only done 100hrs of light use. Nothing loose.
Imagecache Migration
In case anyone noticed (and not sure they should have)...
I've just modified the way images are handled on the site. Please shout out if you see anything 'funny' happening with them (missing images, images with strange aspect ratios or sizes, etc).
For those that want to know what I'm talking about...
Manly Dam Status
I note that Manly Dam has a red light at the moment but has there been any official notification from the rangers regarding its current status ?
Anyone on the official email list care to post ?
Thanks in advance.
Public bike maintenance station
You know (if you like to ski/board) that most resorts will have tools for fixing your bindings, etc. at ski lifts.
Well - a city in the US has brought this to local cyclists with these public repair stations. Very cool

Ultimate single speed commuter
Saw this on a Melbourne high st last week. Didn't appear to be there for some promotional reason, just a regular commuter - no lights though I see.....
Needs a set of fat tyres and then it'll go anywhere. Forget 29ers, this is the future
Could have been nasty

Could have possible done some serious damage to someone coming down the trail at speed......
St Helenas
Has anybody ridden it lately ... is it an overgrown mess ... with large sections of graded sand pits at the start.
Is the exit easier to follow ... Its been a while since I've ridden it ... last time with Joey and Rod. Thought I'd start thinking about a revisit.

Grinding sound of the rotor...
Hello everybody, hope you all are doing good.
I have a bit of problem about tune-in the rear Avid Elixir 5 hydraulic w/6” rotors, its a bit irritating and also I've notice some little change in my braking. I'm trying to tune it so to remove the grinding sound, but every time I tighten the lock and try to spin it again I can here the grinding sound again.
So I'm thinking if there is a problem with the rotor? or the pads.
I there anybody here experience that before and if so can you share it with me it will definitely help me
Thanks

Full Suspension 29er
Hey
I'm looking to buy a Full Suspension 29er. I've ridden the GT Sensor and Giant Anthem.
They are both great bikes and are both around $3000.
Are there any other bikes I should be looking at?
Does anyone have one of these? What do you think?
Thanks
Tony

Loose rocks @ Lake Parra
I'm not sure if it was kids being kids or walkers trying to deter riders or mtb'ers in for a challenge.
But can the asshats who are putting large loose rocks right in the middle of downhill lines at Lake Parra please ... dont!
We spend a lot of time maintaining these trails for everyone's enjoyment and we have a good dialogue with the rangers.
I saw kids on a family ride who had these rocks flung back at each other and a boy fall off.
Not to mention my own otb at a section I've done a hundred times.

Revealed: middle-aged men at most risk on two wheels
Men aged between 45 and 64 riding either bicycles or motorcycles are getting seriously injured on Australian roads at significantly higher rates than they were a decade ago. They are also more prone to serious injury than vehicle drivers.
Wow... who'd have thunk!
Get hit when sitting in a car: ding in car.
Get hit when riding a bike: broken bones and torn flesh
Sydney Lord Mayor Clover Moore, a keen cyclist who has been injured in a crash, said the figures showed the need for better infrastructure for riders.
Family rides near Jindabyne/Snowy Mountains?
Any suggestions for easy/medium level family rides around the Jindabyne/Snowy Mountains area?
We are heading to the Snowies after the Mont, staying at Jindabyne and have 5 days in the local area. Appreciate any suggestions for local trails (both single track and gravel) suitable for our three boys (10, 12, 13) and S.O. Thank you.
Perimeter and Long status?
Hi - has anybody ridden P & L this week - would like to know what the track conditions are like?
Cycleops Jet Fluid Pro Trainer
Anyone have any specific experience with this exact model and if not with one of the Cycleops fluid trainers? I'm aware of the difference between wind/magnetic/fluid/rim/wheel/etc. trainers and as this exact model in on for what seems like a really good deal and interested to know if it is a decent model.
Reflectors get you big air!
Wow, check this out.
Seems some bright spark has come up with an aerodynamic reflector design that helps riders (OK - mostly DH riders) get big air over jumps. They work in the same way as airline wing to generate lift and let riders fly!
