Lost Phone & Multi Tool in Cascades
Went for a ride today (Saturday 9/10) in the arvo about 3-5pm and my bloody saddle bag opened up somewhere between the start and finish. It had a Old Nokia (Pre-paid sim-card) and a fantastic Park multi tool. I'd really like to get both of them back (especially the multi tool) so if anyone finds either of them please PM me.
I rode from Phillip Rd fire trail through to Kitchner Rd and into the Cascades at the end of Kitchner and then basically did the 4 gates. Final bit was past the the Quarry Track gate and past the pump station back up to Kitchner and Phillip Rd.
Tubeless - tips, tricks.. Help!
I have a 2010 Giant Trance X2 with the stock Mavic 317 Disc rims and Kenda 26x2.1 tyres.
As in a previous post I get flats regularly - particularly at Manly Dam. I've been running highish pressure, around 40psi, and it's been better although after another flat today decided to pull the 'Stans No Tubes' kit off the shelf and give it a go.
Manly Daily Article
Does anyone know where this plan is on the council site the below article refers to?
Servicing tools
Its something I've always been meaning to learn about but never got around to. Servicing/rebuilding my own bike, the works!
The dollar is still doing good, so I thought I'd stock up on some of the tools that one might have for servicing their bike and bit by bit get more familiar with them.
Theres the obvious stuff like allen keys etc, but I don't have a chain cleaner which I'd imagine is quite useful, maybe even a service stand. Anything else one might find useful?
(will probably be going to wiggle)
oil coming from fork?
I've got a Rock Shox Revelation on my old 2006 Giant Reign 2. Hadn't had a ride in a while and had a 55km ride on the long weekend.
The fork felt a little stiff and when I got home I got out the shock pump and set +ve and -ve to 75psi (I'm ~65kg). When I was letting air out though there there was actually oil coming out (enough that there was oil coming out of the shock pump's air release button).
I take it this is not normal? The fork feels fine otherwise though.
$$$ AUD > US $$$
OMG it's almost 1:1 for the Aussie dollar against the Greenback. Shopping online in the The US has never looked so affordable. Let's get shopping guys whilst the fun still lasts!
Anyone know of any other good US shopping sites?

Rider for MTBO 6hr at Wingello wanted Sun 17 Oct
We have an odd number of crew for the MTBO 6hr event at Wingello and need a partner as its an event for two. Link is below if you are interested, they are a lot of fun, the orienteering aspect isn't hard, its mainly just map (not compass) if you haven't done one before.
In terms of matching rider ability, mid-level fast, somewhere in the 5.5-6.5hrs for the Dirtworks 100km ..... we're mid-30's, thinking we're still mid-20s.

Question about tyre
Hi guys I am after some advise.
Last night I tried to convert my non UST Nobby Nic to tubeless using Stans rim strips and sealant.
To cut a long story I got the tyre to bead up and inflate but when it hit about 20psi it spewed sealant from a hole in the tyre (not sidewall).
Eventually the hole sealed (it is about 5mm long) and so I started inflating again - once again at 20psi it spewed out sealant and eventually sealed.
This contuinued a couple of more times so I left it a couple of hours and tried again - no joy. Left it overnight and again no joy.
My question is -
Me new DHér

Rexona advertisement

Here is the US version
Newest Addition to the Logan Stable
So after waiting a few weeks for all the bits to turn up, my new bike is finally built courtesy of Rob, it does need a few minor adjustments, like switching the brakes from US to UK stlye and just getting the bolts torq'd properly.
Keep those comments coming, and come along Thursday!
As you all know, the campaign for mountain bike access in NSW National Parks is hotting up. Feedback from the first forums is that email submissions are split 50/50 between those for and against the proposals put forward in the recent discussion paper.
This shows that there are opponents out there who do not realise the positive outcomes that this could mean for all parks users and who can organise a negative campaign. Yes, those positives are many, and they will benefit all users, not just mountain bike riders. This is a key concern to us - the trails are there to share!
While there are many comments online that support mountain bike riders, I know there are many riders out there who have yet to get behind this effort. Take a look at the enclosed graph knocked up earlier. This shows that there were big spikes in response early on, and again after a couple of organisations sent out email reminders. However, the number of submissions flowing has returned to a trickle once more. The comment count is currently not even 2% of the monthly visitors to NoBMoB which is pretty disappointing
Make no mistake - if you think your voice cannot be heard, or will not count, or that you can rely on others then you are wrong! It's is vitally important that we show the authorities how much we care and how many we are.
For those that think lobbying like this doesn't work, remember this:
- The Manly Dam closure earlier this year - completely reversed due to a massive campaign.
- Glenrock Regional Park - now with an official trail network after many years of such campaigning.
- Trail maintenance days in the Royal National Park re-instated - in no small part due to lobbying by local riders.
- This current discussion paper itself - a result of many efforts and has NPWS acknowledging several key points riders have been saying for years.
So please, take 30 seconds to visit the discussion site and leave your comments (scroll to the bottom of the page)... now!

If you can come to the NPWS MTB forum in Turramurra on Thursday night then all the better. See you there?
Indoor Bike Park... if it's raining [Video]
I've heard it's raining back home in Sydney... but there is always Plan B (here in Canada)!
We took the bike-crazed kids from the Canuck side of the family to Toronto's largest indoor bike park... Joyride150.
It has 4 levels of riding, skinnies, jumps, XC course, pump tracks, foam pits....good for adults and kids as young as 5 years old!
Benji with the cousins at www.Joyride150.com
Think of it as an Indoor Bike park ...as big as Warringah Mall!

Newbie BB Servicing Question...should be a quicky.
Hello all. Just a quick one, I'm trying to service my BB... but after watching a few youtube videos about it, I don't think it may be sealed for life and unserviceable.
What do I mean by that? Good question. So, I've taken the BB out of the bike and it looks like one of these:

Yeti & Cannondale warranty issues
Interesting to see that BA no longer stocks Cannondale and Yeti coz of too many warranty issues!!!.
Apparently Giants never come back under warranty and are their bread and butter. They also sell Pivot.

Kids rides
Hi all,
My son is 5 and a half and loves riding "bush tracks", we regularly ride Jameson Park around Narrabeen Lake although he is getting bored with that one. He hit up the BMX track at Del Rio while I was racing at Wisemans a few weeks ago and loved it, he's got safety gear. Does anyone have any ideas of what tracks I can take him on that won't bust him up ?? I ride Manly Dam twice a week and he;s not ready for that...
Thx
Lezo
