NEWSFLASH. Disappointed AMBC course attendee puts up short notice Terrey Hills/Centre/Duckholes ride to feel better about Saturday's course being postponed due to temporary closure of Manly Dam. Bummer.

I'm not expecting anyone to be there what with the 12 hour notice and all (and you're all probably dead from your Oaks ride), but if you are, look out for the tall guy who's got a sudden window in his riding calendar.

This ride is the Oaks up and back it is a training ride for the dirtworks so will be at a moderate to fast pace similar to todays ride at Terry Hills and the Andersons Oaks adventure a few weeks ago.

There are no trains involved with this ride as we leave Gleenbrook and head up the Oaks under our own power to the top gate at Woodford. Here we turn around and head back to Glenbrook with a possible detour out the Pisgah trail before blasting down the single track.

A speedy (?) night lap to work on the fitness levels ready for coming events. Firetrail to the lookout and back (not the road), minimal stops, no pub for me as I have to get back to Hornsby Hts and start work early. This run has been done at 19-20k's an hour which is a good target. Will try to make it a regular 'coz it will be easy to compare progress each week. I don't want to sound like an unsociable git by posting this as I will be joining other social rides, but I can only do 1 ride during the week at the moment and I'd like to make it count!...

The plan, park at Woodford station take the train to Wentworth Falls, ride Andersons and have a break for some early lunch before doing up to 3 hrs of really good single track/fire roads in the Hazelbrook/Lawson area, the folk that did the mid Mountain tour are familiar with this area, but We will be doing the improved loop that I've been riding with sweet flowing single track, water bars and some technical up and down (for Liam). Then back to the cars and drive to the camping spot (no fees type) with drop toilet.

We'll head out along perimeter trail, out and back on long trail, then back along the perimeter trail. No wimping out and riding back on the road.

However it has been forever since I have ridden, so expect a fairly easy pace with lots of time to admire the scenery
