Oxford Falls (Morgan Road) update for 21 Jul
The track closest to the road will be closed until further notice. There's a lot of issues with all the rain we've had this winter, and a lot of trail work is being done to make the track better than ever for all riders. Have patience.... it will be worth it.

Manly Dam update for 21 Jul
Official closure from The Rangers
Good afternoon mountain bikers,
Please be advised that due to extremely wet conditions (over 90mm of rain in 48hrs), the Manly Dam mountain bike track will be CLOSED until further notice. Due to continuing rain and the high water content of the surrounding landscape, we anticipate the track will remain closed until at least next week. We will provide an update next Tuesday and/or advise once conditions allow the track to be re-opened.

National XC Round at Awaba
Its been shared that Awaba and HMBA will be hosting the final round of the National XC and DH series. The weekend is 3/4th of March.
Its a long way off, but I would encourage everyone to get it in their calendar. Its great to have a round so close to Sydney, and so accesible. Its a chance for everyone to see (and cheer on) the best local athletes as they go against the best in Australia. Home track advantage is hugely important on such a tight track. There will be a bunch of NobMobbers racing and maybe one or two winning.
Headset ...
Hi guys,
Need to pick your brains again, this time about headsets. The bearing in mine seems to be worn, at least there is noticeable resistance when turning the handlebars and when I try to carefully adjust the headset I need to compromise between looseness and friction.this has been getting gradually worse over the last couple weeks.
The frame is a Scott scale 30 from 2006 and the headset is FSA (not sure which one) my understanding is that this is a semi recessed HS?
When these are worn, do you usually replace the whole unit or is it as easy as popping a new bearing in.

Frenchs Forest East to Sydney Olympic Park and Return Easy Endurance

With the crap weather forecast through into the weekend, I'm going to take my normal commute route that I haven't done for awhile and turn it into an out-and-back loop to Sydney Olympic Park. Total distance will be 55 km or so,plus wharever the Olympic 4X circuit is, conditions permitting (so fit your fat tyres!).
Apart from some stints on Warringah Road, Babbage/Boundary and the very short Victoria Road section, this is on roads with manageable traffic or suburban streets, and forms my midweek commute when working at SOP.
OK, I know I am getting soft
Unlike Gazza I turned up and raced. Wasn't sure about the weather so went with long knicks and a woollen undershirt and ended up being warm despite the 13 degree day. It stayed dry the whole race and we even got sunshine for the last hour so the track just got better and better.
Bottom Bracket Bearing worn - Giant Anthem X3
My bottom bracket bearings are worn and need replacing. Can anyone advise what I should do. Repair or replace.
The current BB is Shimano Deore integrated outboard??
If replace, replace with what?
