Wildflower Garden update for 24 Oct
Nursery sniggle has had a HRB along most of it. Cleared a few bits of fallen timber, but otherwise all good (if a bit black). Horse track is fine, but construction work has started on the gun club expansion, so traffic on the access road is likely to require a bit more care and attention. Muppets is dry again but could do with a little TLC to make it a bit more sustainable when damp. Fallen trees have been cleared but there is still one hanging pretty low near the bottom of the clockwise descent. Linigen Pl track to get across there from Snives is all good too.

Withdrawn: S-Works Epic,XL, perfect spec, price options
Hi all. Its been a while since I have sold a bike on here, but its time to let my beloved Epic race bike go.
First and foremost, this is a bike that has been loved and cared for regardless of cost. I have had two shock shock and fork services done on it and also a full bearing replacement done.
The spec is as follows:
XL S-Works Epic frame, Rockshox SID WC with brain.
Full XX1, brakes upgraded to Guide Ultimate.
Bottom Bracket and Jockey Wheels upgraded to C-Bear ceramic (google them - $$$)
Roval Control SL carbon wheels - no dinks or issues, replaced bearings recently.

Yellomundee Regional Park update for 24 Oct
After the heavy rain in Sydney I turned up to Yarramundi expecting it to be damp. Bone dry!

Kowalski Classic 2016
After being happy with last years result but feeling I could do better, I immediately ramped up my training. I joined a group of roadies and trained with them during the week and rode the mtb on the weekends.
The training definitely paid off as my results show.

Bike going into storage
So I'm planning on putting my duel suspension bike into storage for a year. Is there anything I should be doing to it. I'm thinking I should take the tyres off the rims and getting it serviced. Is there anything else I should do like letting some air out of the shocks?

Just the right amount of mud
With a hectic work schedule over winter I was looking forward to my 3rd 50km Kowalski Classic and a weekend away in the nation's capital. Having the race postponed was a good thing for me and allowed a full recovery from a rather nasty flu in September.

Half Kowalski with a bit of mud and wind
I'm kinda glad the race got postponed as I couldn't imagine riding the trails last month after that amount of rain they've had in Canberra. Overall the trails were in really great condition, some entry points were a mudfest with really soft energy sapping mudfest.
My time is about the same (1 minute slower) as the time I did my last half Kowalski in 2014, but my overall position improved from 133rd to 83rd and my category position improved slightly from 26th to 23rd. Next year I will aim to be in the top 20 for my category.

Kowalski 2016 - a tale of 2 halves
Kowalski 2016
The Kowalski Classic is one race in the year that I really don't like to miss. The amount and quality of singletrack really make it unique and also perhaps the toughest race on the calendar. After a long wet winter I had almost no time on the mtb but I had been doing plenty of road km's in preparation for the Tassie 3 peaks. So I was pretty fit and raring to go! No excuses this time!
