CRC sale ending soon
I got an email saying that the 2009 sale is ending soon at CRC and I haven't ordered anything yet! So I was wondering whether anyone is keen to organise a group order to get the free shipping? (total over $545)
I may be able to do it but lets see how much interest is expressed

I know what you mean Gav
In theory I should be 85kg, doing sub 40 min laps around the dam and waking up next to a beautiful woman most mornings of the week.
Saddly, reality has only delivered me one of those, lucky its the right one

Alps Epic has been cancelled
Says on their website (http://www.alpsepic.com.au/) no where near meeting the entry requirements.
Guess this means that those toying with one of the epics (the other being the Mountains To Beach Stage Race) have an easier choice to make.
Mt. york
Alex, Craig B and myself went riding yesterday at Mt. York and had a blast we rode down Lockyers up Berghoffers Pass down coxs and up Lawsons long alley.
While riding up Berghoffers Pass Alex pointed out that it is 100 years old this year(after reading the historic sign carved into the sandstone) so it was suggested that an overnighter out here could be in order.

Happiness is a warm shock.
Anyone know what goes on here?
While updating maps just now I noticed this quarry looking place that haven't really paid any attention to before:
http://maps.google.com.au/?ie=UTF8&ll=-33.690478...
This is on the South side of Mona Vale road on the bend by the junction with McCarrs Creek Road. Many of us know that corner, there's a sign there which says, "Looking East over Garigal National Park". Perhaps it should say, "You think there's a National Park down there, but really it's a BFO Quarry!"
Colour Coded Trails
Some of you may have noticed a whole heap of 'Track' content types popping up recently. This is as we will finally have colour coded maps shortly. All the KMZ files have been previously created by hand which meant the author (whoever that was ) decided to draw the trails in completely random colours.
Soon the KMZ (well, KML file, actually) will be generated from the data in these 'Track' nodes on the site, meaning they can be colour coded according to type (firetrail, single track, etc.). An example of what this looks like is Manly Dam seen here. OK, sneak peak of full auto generated file here.
As a by product of all this we'll get some stats on Km of trails by type, location, etc.
And just a reminder of course, anyone in the Content Authors group can create a write up of an area worth riding in, and now create 'Track' content types too so individual trails can be mapped and discussed. There's more on that in the Content Author's Reference.
Vibration from braking?
On my last two rides, my rear brakes have been howling and sending severe vibration up through the frame of my bike. Does anyone know of what could be causing this and/or how to deal with it?
I have the rotor centred fairly well and tightened the cone nuts with no success.
Appreciate any feedback....
FYI: Trek Fuel ex7 with Avid Elixir CR brakes (7 inch rotors)

Nationals this weekend
Hey,
V and I were planning on heading down to Nationals and the car we were hoping to get wont be ready for another couple of weeks. Thus we are now looking for a ride to Canberra this weekend. More than happy to split costs and would prefer to not use the train if at all possible. So is there anyone out there with a couple of spare seats and room for a bike or two...
Mt. York
If anyone is keen for some Mt York riding early tomorrow morning let me know? Training pace and too much fun out there.
John.
Anyone using one of these pacific bike carriers?
Hi there,
We have been looking around for a decent bike tow bar mounted bike rack and willing to spend up to $200. We have been seeing these racks at quite a few bike shops and they appear to be constructed well and are not too pricey.
My main concern is the velcro straps coming undone or wearing out over time and then not holding the bikes as well. Has anyone used one of these racks and could odder an opinion?
Also at the same time could anyone offer any other suggestions for a carrier around that price?
Looking for a nice 60-70km training run
Hey guys
Anyone know of any good training trails that I can get a good 60km+ from?
Cheers
Phil
