Fame ???
Just flicking through Issue 10 of Enduro magazine and who do I see on page54 accompanying the atricle on the highland fling....?
Among the photo's of Gordo and the elite riders is a great shot of Geoff(?), Pikey, Gary and Paul, resplendent in NoBMoB jerseys.

So, as some of you might know, a few of us have been helping out a bit with track building at the Sydney 24 hour course at Del Rio. I have permission from the organiser to share this with you all, the track will be something like this:
Unwanted Entry (for the Dirtworks) anyone?
Has anyone got an unwanted 100 or 50km entry to Dirtworks? My brother missed out and I would really like him to join me for the race.

Trance Frame for Sale 16" SOLD!!!!!!!
THE FRAME HAS BEEN SOLD!!!
Hi guys, and girls.
Well Vanina has decided its time to get a new frame and that means that her frame(pearl) is up for sale.
The frame is a 06 Trance frame (105mm travel). It has been well ridden and has a few battle scars to go with. The rear shock is a RP3. It was serviced only a few months ago so is in good nick. THe rear end has no play in it.
This frame would make the perfect platform to step into full suspension without having to spend too much. The frame will come an XT front Derailaur and the headset (might need a new one though).
bellingham free ride
these guys are great, i may be wrong but i think the trail is called snakes and ladders, Bellingham USA.
MTB shoes
hey guys,
after seeing a few of cleet caused crashes( going-round-corners-to-fast-and-not-being-being-able-to-put-your-foot-down-quick-enough-so-you-smash-in-to-a-tree type crashes)i am not so keen on them. so, i just wanted to know, are there any kind of shoes/pedals that i can buy that will give me better grip on the manly dam type rides.
thanks everyone
MTB helmet
Hey everybody,Boulder here
right now i have a shabby old helmet that is falling apart, the reason why is because its a three yr old helmet from BIGW.
i have looking for a good MTB helmet for a while now ( that is not a fullface helmet) and i am not sure which brand is the best for just doing weekly cross country stuff like manly dam. my price range is around $80-$100 so if any of you could please give me a bit of advice, that would great.
Thanks everyone
Anyone intending to order from Chainreactioncycles? I need a 29" RIM (pref Stans Flow or Arch)
As you may know, Chain Reaction has free shipping on orders over about A$600. Shipping on a rim is otherwise prohibitive ($50), so I'd like to add to someone's order in the near future.
Good sale on at the moment too!!!
Cheers
Nic
Shipping
Hi Guys,
Happy new year to everyone!!!
Quick question. On my way to Canada in 3 weeks and looking to buy a new bike. Any suggestions on the cheapest way to ship it back to Oz?
Going to Whistler via Air Canada from SFO then back to Oz with Qantas. It would be great if I can avoid carrying the box with me with holidaying so wouldn't mind shipping it back home.
Thanks in advance for your help!

West Head for Blondie
Riding up Heath yesterday, Blondie was telling me how much she loves those hills.
I was saying how the only real hill in these parts is the climb up Elvina so what's say we do a Duck Hole/Centre loop on Saturday morning but go up the road to Elvina on the way? We could even throw in Waratah if Blondie is feeling good.
I don't want to go too early or make too large an epic out of this as I have to go to a wedding later that day.
Anyone keen (aside from the obvious?)
Lost: iMate SP5 phone - Great North Road
Hi Guys, I lost my iMate SP5 phone somewhere along the Great North Road track today.
It is a one in a millions shot I know, but I thought I would mention is anyway.
I lost it somewhere between the monk retreat (the water drum) and the start of the track ie. not the Wisemans Ferry end, the other end.

anyone dropping out of the sydney 24hr?
due to people scaring me on the pinch climbs on this course i've decided to give it a miss as my first 24 solo attempt.
my last minute decision on this leaves me without a team for this event.
if anyone from a fairly competitive team drops out could you please consider me as a last minute fill in.
those who know me know i've been training hard lately.
those who dont know me, well, ive been training hard lately!
whoever you are, i wont let you down.
p.m. me if anything comes up.
thanks,
gazza
MotionX-GPS on my iPhone
I just downloaded a free app on my iPhone from the app store called MotionX-GPS. I got the light version which is free and there is another version which you pay about $3 for. The free one is unreal, but i may end up getting the paid version to support this great developer.
Anyhow below is the information that it gave me after a ride when i chose the option to email the ride (track) to me. To test it i just did a road ride around Homebush and didn't start it properly until i got to Silverwater.
mtb nationals anyone?
think i'm going down to compete in this with some friends. is anyone else going to compete. its short course and would be great training for these team events that are coming up. http://www.mtbnationals.com.au/

For sale and looking for a good home. Would suit a jump bike or for someone that is just getting into MTB and would like some decent travel on the front, or even for one of the kids. These forks have a lot of life in them and have been completely brilliant to me.

Super plush action you only get with real coils.
Completely Bomb proof!
IS Brake mounts, but also have the V brake mountings.
Steering tube cut to 220mm
Late notice - Night Ride tonight, Chiltern, Duck Holes, Terry Hill Track, Centre Track maybe Waratah and back up Chiltern.
Late notice on a ride i'd like to do tonight. I'm thinking an 8pm start. Meet at the top of Chiltern Track
on Chiltern Road. There is alot of uphill in this one and some good downhill sections too. I figure that we
start at Chiltern downhill to the botom of Duckholes. Up Duckholes then Terry Hills track, across to and
then down Centre Track then back up Chiltern to finish. This could take take about 1.5 hours. If anyone was
keen (or crazy enough), I'd throw in Waratah Track after Centre Track as well just to make a good night of it.
Any takers ?
Cheers
George.
German..

Working Week Series '09?
Has anybody heard anything about the WWS 8hr events. The website isn't up. I was looking forward to doing these events again this year, but I haven't heard a thing.
Has Bright Orange Events folded or are they just a little slow to get organised?
Any information would appreciated.
Thanks.

Questions for the Minister for Climate Change and the Environment
As I'm yet to receive a reply to my letter to the Minister for Climate Change and the Environment I just shot this off to my local minister, Jillian Skinner. Let's see what response this gets...
Dear Mrs Skinner,
I am writing to you as my minister for state parliament and have an issue I would appreciate your help with.
New enduro event - Capital Punishment
Just received this media release from some mates. Sounds fun!
Craving Capital Punishment?
5 January 2009
By now, all mountain bikers in the country would have heard of - or ridden for the lucky ones - Mt Stromlo, host of the 2008 UCI World Cup and the 2009 UCI World Championships! Chances are Majura Pines also rings a bell as the headquarters for the Mont 24Hour MTB event. Finally, Canberrean riders at least would know of these other local gems that are Sparrow Hill and Bruce Ridge...
