Cervelo Soloist (Alloy) with Dura Ace equipment and Mavic Ksyrium wheels
Hi, I am selling a 54cm Cervelo Soloist with a black ALLOY frame, Dura Ace equipment and Mavic Ksyrium wheels. The bike is in perfect condition and was very recently serviced etc. The frame alone is $1,600 at KOM and the wheels are around $1,400. I am asking $2,500 but am open to realistic offers. If you are interested then please e-mail me on [email protected].

Group Order - AY-UP Lights ... Any Interest ??
Hi,
I'm new to the site so have not met any of you, but I am looking at getting some AY-UP's and starting night riding. The MTB kit is about $489 and I think if we can get enough of us we should be able to get a reasonable discount. If anyone is keen then please e-mail me on [email protected]. I will try organise to send a list of names to Andrew at AY-UP and then we can buy individually and all benefit from a discounted price.
Cheers
Ian

Old timers - anecdotes required
Hey, so I was thinking there might be some old gits more mature riders in our midst, can someone answer this one...
What's the earliest anecdotal evidence anyone has for MTB riding around various places in Sydney? You know, Manly Dam, Red Hill, Oxford Falls, Terrey Hills, etc, etc.
I've only been doing it since coming back from UK 2004-ish, but seems to have been going on for many years before then. Old photos would be useful.
Cheers!

chain reaction order
Anyone have any shopping for chain reaction?
I am putting together an order in the next day or two and wouldnt mind the free shipping option (hehe).

riding tours of mont blanc
Has anyone done a mtb tour of Mont-Blanc. I'm currently in Europe for a few months - lucky me - and I thought that I'd try my hand at what is supposed to be one of the great ride areas in the world. There seems to be heaps of company's offering rides and so I was after some advice on which to pick. I'm currently looking at a 3 countries 6 or 7 dayer which is run by a UK outfit - but ?? Any help would be greatly appreciated - before I take the plunge. After XC / Enduro not pure downhill as the lefty just won't handle it.

MTB overnighter
I've been thinking for a while that an overnighter in the Blue Mountains would be a lot of fun, especially one where everybody wasn't racing the following day so that after some great riding a few refreshments could be enjoyed around a campfire.

how to check/replace remove wheel bearings??
anyone know how to pull out wheel bearings (specifically on bontrager big earl wheels/hubs) as mine are screwed already, and cant find for the life of me where they are/ are taken out..they are sealed bearings if that helps at all?? or do i just need new hubs?

Wanted cheap used QR wheelset 135mm rear , disc compatable
My Specialized hard rock commuter has finally succumbed to the salt air living across the road from the beach and the cheap SS spokes are rusting and snapping so I am looking for a CHEAP replacement has anyone upgraded their ride and been left with a wheelset gathering dust in the shed ?
Can be low rent no frills as long as the bearings work and they are reasonably round
cheers

Downhill tracks around Sydney (coming from abroad)
Hi guys,
I'm from Germany and will travel to Sydney in September. I was looking around for bikeparks and downhill tracks in the area around Sydney.
Here on NoBMog you have the "rides" directory with MTB tracks sorted by the distance from Sydney.
I found Ourimbah State Forest for a one day trip. Is Ourimbah a kind of bikepark? I didn't found any information about shuttle transportation or lift on the website. Are there such transportations?
I will take my downhill bike with me. You listed MTB courses around Sydney as well, but most of them are XC tracks, right?

Camping Canberra or southern highlands
Kathy and I are looking to go camping for a weekend down in Canberra or the southern highlands over the next few weeks before the cold weather sets in, with a couple of days of biking in the usual pine forest areas.
Does anyone have any recollection or info on camping areas in the vacinity?
Hot showers would be nice but all other creature comforts can be forgotten about.
Cheers
Gazza and Kath
p.s. i see you took Pratiwi down to the S.H. a while ago. is Wingello ok for Kath?

Excessive early chain wear
So I took receipt of a Park Tools CC-2 chain checker today and threw it straight onto the Enduro and also the Viper to see how both were going.
The Enduro has a Rohloff chain on it, there atleast 12 months. No idea about kms but considerably more than the viper and probably riden alot more harshly.
The Viper, a hardtail, was only built at xmass and would have seen less than 20, 20 - 30km rides in that time, 500km tops would be a realistic guess but probably alot less. I opted for a Wipperman 920 on this

Thumbing a lift
Any chance of a lift from Wiseman's Ferry to the Dirtworks start line on 4 May? I'll be staying overnight on the Saturday in Wiseman's (not camping this time as I'll have my 8-week-old son with me) so I'm looking for a lift over the last 20 ks.
Please let me know if you're coming through that way and have room for an extra bike and rider. Will trade Clif Bars for transport..........
Cheers, Tim

Resident Tiger Snake
Hi everyone, just thought I'd post a little warning about a local tiger snake which occasionally suns itself on the Perimeter Trail in Terrey Hills. I live at the beginning of the trail and i've seen it in the area around the first few k's of the track (they are territorial), generally from the beginning until the beginning of Smiths Creek (and presumably some of Nerang). Most snakes tend to slide off the track but this one plays dead until you get to close and then strikes.

Cross Training?
Hey,
Just curious as to what you guys do for cross training? and no I don't mean cross-training the road bike or the motorcross bike.
When I just started getting into MTB'ing I used to do windsurfing and gym work. This brought a whole lot of benefits in terms of strength to the upper body etc. Now it seems as though I only ride and ride and the upper body ain't doing a whole lot of stuff. The back is beginning to suffer a bit cause of the combination of desk work ALL FLIPPIN DAY! and riding. (not that I ride that much)

Andos/Oaks Ride Share This Sunday?
Re: http://nobmob.com/node/4745
It looks like Rob will be leaving LNS at the unearthly hour of 5:45 aaaay-emmmmm this Sunday
Putting the usual offer of ride share out there, any takers? Car can handle 4 riders and bikes, but 3 is probably more comfy. Will probably be driving out along the M2, etc. to get up to Glenbrook so there's not that much scope for pick ups I'm afraid.

Tyre recommendation
Hi Everyone,
Can anyone recommened a decent tyre? Looking for 2.00 or 2.10, mainly for fire trail, single trail use ie The Oaks, Manly Dam, Other Blue Mtns rides etc

New line @ 19th Hole
The new line is actually the corner after the 19th hole. Although it was funny being there on foot and seeing the track from other direction. I had never seen that drop off the 19th hole on the far left. Looks quite doo-able.

Thanks to Gazza for lending me his bike and the Terrey Hills ride!
Finally managed to get out on a ride last Thursday when Gary took me out on the Terrey Hills fire trails route. Your tracks are so different here - the rocks and the scree are probably nothing to you guys as you're used to it - I found it a bit unnerving. That track finally made me understand the absolute necessity of a full suspension bike. If I'd been riding my KHS Team full rigid (aka the Tea Trolley or V&A exhibit circa 1994) without doubt I'd have been more off than on. The bike Gary let me use was excellent and absorbed so much - my old steed would have bucked me off pronto.

Horses (was Thanks for the warning)
Thanks for the warning Martin.
Slowing/stopping for horses is just part of sharing the trails my friend, remember we are all out there for the same reason regardless of what we ride & a bit of horse poo never hurt anyone(as long as you dont ride with your mouth open ).

Trees down on perimiter track
there is a tree down on the perimiter drack just after the hill on the second junction, its not movable, but it is possible to get of and walk around/over it one at a time. Don't come down the hill to fast as its pretty sudden.

I need a new bike - SCOTT SPARK 20.?
Hi All,
I am starting the long hard process of looking for a new bike. Basically I ride three or four times a week. No real heavy DH stuff but plenty of fast trails and quite a few medium rocks / techy stuff. To give you a better idea, this year I am doing the BMC Working week series as well as Dirt works etc.
I was hoping I could get some feedback on the SCOTT SPARK 20..
Thanks for the input (in advance)
Cheers

Break in the new bike
Believe it or not the bike shop tells me that my bike is finally in after 5 months of waiting! I'll pick it up tonight hopefully.
Tien tells me he will be riding Saturday afternoon...possibly a long one. I'm not sure if I can hang around for hours but I'll definitely try and take the bike out for a spin. Track will most likely something around Terrey Hills. Nothing too technical until the brakes bed in and I get a feel for it.
Well if you interested give me a call or reply here.
