Using tubeless tyre with tubes

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Hay guys,

Slashed my tyre went to the shop and in my haste grabbed a tubeless tyre (Maxis Crossmark)just wondering if it is ok to use a tube in these tyres?

Reason I ask is that once the tyre is inflated it has a noticeable whobble (rim is straight) I have put different tubes in and pumped them up to max pressure unfortunately it is persisting. So I'm trying to figure out if it is the tube causing the issue or have I grabbed a dickie tyre?

Cheers

Specialized Comp Carbon

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

HI I have been riding for about a year now mainly around Dwellingup and Camel Farm with the occasional rides down South. But I have decided the Hard tail Haro needs an upgrade. I have done a lot of research and I am leaning towards the Specialized Comp Carbon. I would like to hear from anyone who has ridden one. From some of the chat rooms It sounds like they have some issues with squeaks and bearings failing. But I like the fact they ride like a hardtail

Getting off the beaten trail

Have a read of this article:
http://www.themountainbikelife.com/2013/06/roll-...

Now tell me you're not inspired to go for a ride that's away from the standard 10km looped tracks, and I'll say your telling porkies!

As much as I love going and doing a few laps of Ourimbah, Appin, etc, I'm yet to do a ride like the ones described in the article. Maybe this weekend is a good opportunity....

Anyone been and done an 'off the cuff ride' and got any good tales to tell?

How long do your rear tyres last

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

This is my rear tyre, Its pretty shagged, LOL, I know. At that stage it had done 1800 km. Its now just over 2000 km. mainly around the Northern Beaches. I've just received my replacement tyre and it will be fitted in the next few days. This tyre had sensational grip when it was fresh. Front tyre was mounted new at the same time but still has plenty of meat left on it.

MTB gloves

Can anyone recommend good quality MTB gloves? I find the stitching on most brands comes apart within 6-9 months of constant use (but maybe that's par for the course?)

I saw the FB photo from the FlowMTB boys of Mujura Pines. What exactly is the current status? Can you ride the trails? Have the trails been significantly torn up?

Hi I have shipped my 2011 Specialized Pitch comp over from the UK and I'm considering selling it as I fancy something different, the thing is I'm unsure of pricing for itas new to the country and not sure they even sold it here, can anyone give me a idea?

It is completely standard apart from a Specialized command dropper post fitted, its been very well looked after, although it does have some scratches.
It has 150mm travel with Rock shox sektor forks and rock shox airo shock, sram x5 shifters, x7 rear mech, slx front, avid elixir 3 rsl brakes.

How blue is your disc ?

Hi all, picked my new second hand Specialised Epic, like wow, specially after stepping off an Orbea hardtail which served my purpose well. Anyway, went for a ride, Woodford to Glenbrook, during the descent my rear brake started making painful noises, didn't notice beforehand it now appears that my disc/rotor has blued, it's certainly a different colour to the front disc, checked pads, plenty of meat left, disc runs true. So how blue can they go before replacing, I assume softer pads would be available ? Any advice is good advice.

Thought I'd give the WA MTB community a small taste and teaser of what off road hand cycling is going to look like. Coming to a trail near you!

For those who haven't heard already, I am raising money for Wheelchair Sports WA to purchase a new handcycle which will give people with physical disabilities equal opportunities to ride off-road as everyone else. Flyer attached.

Reporting cycle infrastructure problems

Do any of you remember Omar Khalifa from Bicycle NSW? The period he spent in charge was one of the most active, high impact and effective periods in the history of BNSW advocacy, and he was very popular with members.

He ended up resigning after the board used proxies to defeat his plans to reform the organisation to make it more accountable to members.

The good news is he has been far from idle. Smiling From bicycles.net.au:
