Tubeless tyre pressure

Hi folks,
I switched to running tubeless about a year ago and love not getting pinch flats anymore but I seem to have to add air more regularly than when I was running tubes to keep the pressure I want. (By the way my tyres don't go completely flat, they just don't have the pressure I want)

I was just wondering if this is the norm? How often does everyone else add air to their tyres?

Cheers

Which would you choose ?

Hi people, looking at purchasing a second hand 29" dually (they need a good home). At the moment I have a choice between;
1 x Giant Anthem 2011 model
1 x Specialised Epic Comp Carbon 2012 model
Currently riding an Orbea 26' Hardtail. Which I find is great, so do I need a dually ? Anyway, I digress.
Any input/knowledge would be appreciated.
Thank's

Conquer Cancer Ride

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Hi Guys,

We got our Jersey/bib knick kits for our charity ride in October. There is still time to make a donation to this worthy cause to fight cancer.

Check them out, Jersey and Bib Knicks, $54 a set including freight.
No minimum order.

Here is the link; http://sy13.conquercancer.org.au/site/TR/Events/...

@Tim, this could be a good place to do the next run on BMORC jerseys + knicks.

Pedal Wars

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Interesting analysis by Richard Cunningham on PinkBike.

Apparently only one World Cup round in the last 2 years to October 2012 had been won on flats? His argument is that with the slackening of head angles from 66 to 62 degrees over this period allows riders to be more low and centred on the bike, rather than sitting back and driving your mass through the bottom bracket, which improves responsiveness but makes it harder to keep feet on pedals when churning out the watts.

Anyways, read for yourself:

NSW NPWS Surveys

I know this has been discussed already, but a timely reminder that there are just a few days left to complete the Berowra Valley National Park & Regional Park Survey at this address:

http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/berowravalley2013

The old Plan of Management is currently being updated. We would like to gauge the public’s interest and general themes for the park to guide the draft plan. We encourage you to provide your feedback via the following survey monkey. Feedback closes 12 May 2013.

Now also might be a good time to mention the Landscape Values Institute is still live and can be found here:

Happy surveying! Eye-wink

Separation of sweat and glasses?

Does anyone have a good solution to keep sweat away from your ridin' glasses? As the sweat dries on the glass the visibility gets seriously bad and after a few uphills and downhills it becomes a bit tricky. Are there any good solutions out there? Stopping and cleaning them is not an option in a race. The ones I use are some cheap torpedo 7 so it may be crap design?

Suggestions welcome.

Cheers!

Just read this FB post and wishing the bloke a speedy recovery.

"An injured mountain bike rider was flown to hospital after a CareFlight team searched and found him on a track in Garigal national park at Belrose in Sydney’s north today.

Ambulance paramedics alerted the rapid-response trauma team just before 11.30 am following a “000” call from another biker who found the unconscious man.

Questions on wheel upgrade

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

I'm looking to upgrade my wheels. Had anyone tried running different width front and rear wheels? I thought of trying Stan's flow on the front ( internal width 25mm) and the Arch on the rear (internal width 21mm). The reasoning is that the wider front wheel would suit bigger tires, Ardent 2.25 or Hans Dampf 2.35. I plan on running a tire around 2 or 2.1 on the rear, hence a narrower width would be ok. The Arch is also lighter which is a plus. So anyone tried this? Otherwise I might just go with the Arch front and rear. Would the width of the Arch be ok with wide tires?

Giant Contact Switch seatpost

Seatpost shat itself recently - took it apart and discovered the internal gas cartridge (made by a company called I.H. Tech) is at fault. Anyone know where I can source a replacement cartridge? Local Giant dealer no help.

Environmental damage to close part of Glenrock

In regard to the article on ABC News online, any idea of which trails will inaccessible?

A large section of Newcastle's Glenrock State Recreation area is set to be closed to bike riders, to reduce environmental damage.

Glenrock ranger Tiffany Knott says now that a two year, $80,000 upgrade of the mountain bike tracks in the northern section is nearing completion, the southern side will be closed to riders in coming weeks.

Ms Knott says it was decided to close illegal and ad-hoc tracks in a section of the park, where damage has occurred to waterways and local wildlife habitat.

Tathra Enduro Debrief

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

I have to share this experience.

Went down to Tathra to do the MTB enduro. Picked this event mainly because I've not done it and I've never been this far down on the south coast.

Tathra is a small community where a group of people have created unbelievable tracks. It's got fast flowing laughing out load tracks, technical bermed downhill runs, gnarly descents and best of all "The Bridges". I think it is the best tracks I've ridden. Better than what we ride at mont, scott and any other event we've all done.

Comparing The Oaks to Six foot track

I have never done the Six Foot Track by foot or bike but always wanted to. Now that I have managed The Oaks up and back I was wondering if I can now attempt Six Foot track as an up and back? There seems a little more vertical but the distances seem similar. Anyone got a good gpx file with altitudes so I can compare? Is there any drinking water available on the track do I need to carry everything? How much walking is there? I was planning starting at the cemetery in Megalong Valley. What do you think?

3 days @ Kiwarrick

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Just spent 3 days at Kiwarrick at Taree. The trails there are amazing and we had a knowledgable local guide, Dave, who was also a great rider and top bloke. As those who have been there know, the trails seem limitless with single tracks galore, 40 kms and more! One of my favourites was the "Labotomy" which came after a gruelling uphill on a fire trail, the exciting single trail down with numerous switch backs was well worth the sweat going up to get there!
