Group Training
Early Morning Terrey Hills DH/Ctre Lap
Park opposite/beside Terrey Hills shops, corner Booralie Rd/Yulong Ave. Or in the small carpark next to the RFS station & community centre.
Going with a mate for an early morning lap or 2 of Duckholes / Centre / reverse (should be mostly dry).
We leave from Terrey Hills shops/carpark at 6:15 am (morning) this Friday.
The more the merrier....
Seeing the morning mist rising over the Hawkesbury is a sight to behold.
See you there,
Hans
The only DAM place to ride on Sunday
King Street (near corner with Arana Street), Manly Vale. You know - outside Manly Hydraulics Lab.
SO, every thing else is closed due to a 'questionable' fire risk, so I'll be lapping the dam for a few hours on sunday morning.
All welcome to join in for a lap or several until it gets too hot.
I'll expect to be pacing the laps around the 36-37 minutes, the idea being to get into a steady groove and keep the flow. Happy to pause at the top of climbs if someone is a bit slower on the steep bits but generally able to keep up the pace.
Late Notice: Cascades Lap [Wed AM]
End of Wyatt Ave, Belrose - this is on the East side of Garigal National Park.
>>Last Minute Ride Planning for Wednesday Morning<<
I'm heading out with a mate for an early morning lap of Cascades - at reasonable pace.
Come along if you feell like some hill training
See you there...
Rgds, Hans
Perimeter + Long
Park opposite/beside Terrey Hills shops, corner Booralie Rd/Yulong Ave. Or in the small carpark next to the RFS station & community centre.
Change to just doing Perimter + Long which means no lights required
Highland Fling Training Ride and Course Recon
4Km SW of Wingello village on Caoura Rd there's a small base camp within the forest - seems as good a place as any.
Pre Fling training ride and familiarising with the Fling track.
Come for one day or two - join us for some nice flowing single track...and get to know the Fling course. Meeting at 8:30 am at Ye Olde Bikeshoppe, Bundanoon. Sarina has the detailed course map; and I'll have the GPS track on the Garmin. (Update: we may have a local guide...)
Some of us are staying overnight (3 of us so far), however most of the riding is on Saturday - approx 4-5 hrs reconnaisance ride.
Car pool is an option - I may have 2 spaces on the car/rack.
Sunday, silly o clock training ride.
Usually Loftus Oval, Sutherland, just off the Princes Highway.
Want to leave Loftus Oval car park at 06:30, head along a bit of the single track in the RNP, then a bit of scumming down to Lady Carrigton Drive, all the way along LCD to some more scumming up to Waterfall. This is where I could get a little lost, but I know there’s a fire trail that goes down to the Woronora dam which is the intended route. From there its back to Heathcote along the pipeline across the Princes Highway and back into the RNP to ride the single track and fire trail back to Loftus Oval.
Stromlo after work blast Please note Day change to Tuesday
Uriarra Road, just up from the Uriarra Road/Coppins Crossing Road turnoff.
After not quite adequate training for the Scott in just over two weeks time , i should get to know the trail , and have a little fun around this great place . If you would like to join me , you are welcome to come along . My plan is to ride a couple of numbered laps , stop for a bite another lap and by then the need for lights will be needed for the last slowdown lap from the pavillion to the Observatory and down via the sensational Berm Track , although it may be called the a different name .
If i have any legs on the day i will have a go at The heartbreaker climb
Tour de Central Coast
Fountain plaza. Erina nsw. corner of central coast highway (entrance road) and Karalta road
Hopefully proposed day suits... such a busy race scene at the moment.
There are lots of look outs to check out so the ride can seem quite sociable, I'm happy to start at what ever time suits who
is coming up to the coast.
It's at least 80km and not many safe spots to top up for water so bring enough to get ya thru it.
Any questions just ask.
chops.
Awesome Hills!
CHANGED: Glenbrook Station Car Park
UPDATE:
I had a flashback this morning and realized that the car park at the park entrance is not open before 8am and some people seem to have difficulty to find it.
=> New meeting point: the usual Glenbrook Station Car Park.
Sorry for the late change! See you there.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
This is a training ride for the Angry Doctor.
Cascades: Dark Gates
End of Wyatt Ave, Belrose - this is on the East side of Garigal National Park.
As discussed... night ride somewhere a little different.
I'm thinking a loop of the sniggle, down Heath, up Quarry, over to St Ives Oval, round the back of the Gun Club then back down Quarry to complete the 4 gates circuit. Maybe duplicate the climb up to Acron or do some other kind of repeats depending on timing and how we all feel.
