Group Training
Terry Hills (one more time)
Park opposite/beside Terrey Hills shops, corner Booralie Rd/Yulong Ave. Or in the small carpark next to the RFS station & community centre.
As Tien deemed Cascades too wet for this Saturday, I have decided to repeat last weeks ride.
Centre (backwards), Waratah, Salvation, Towlers, Elvina, Duck Hole (backwards), then Perimeter/Long tract to complete. Pending how I feel after all that I might go do duckholes/centre one more time as well.
This is a cross-country training ride with moderate speed, with a bit of the black stuff.
Bring plenty of water/food.
Last big dirtworks training
Wisemans Ferry - by the East ferry crossing (turn right bottom of the hill). There is a good parking area by the kiosk here.
Last big training ride before the dirtworks.
Simple plan: Ride up Devines Hill, then continue on GNR for 35ks then back same way but down Shepherds Gully and back on road. This should be about 80ks of excitment.
Note, this is training - No stops unless neccessary (mechanical and eating) and good pace which means around 18 - 20km/h on the flat sections and full blast on the down sections. Hence, a good training ride for anyone who aims at finishing dirtworks in 6hrs or less. I set the group limit to 4 as larger groups tends to be slow.

Blondies Training Ride - at slow speed
End of Wyatt Ave, Belrose - this is on the East side of Garigal National Park.
Ok, i am going to go from Cascades to St Ives Oval to Duck and Centre and back again – anyone fancy doing this with me? I am thinking this will be my last 'long' ride before the Dirtworks - If Paul twist my arm I may consider adding in going down Ryland and around the perimeter as well but not sure about extending it that much..!!!
Roid boys need NOTreply as this will be a Blondie training ride at Blondie speed...I will stop somewhere for a snack too!
i am guessing this ride will end up being about 35ks? or 40? In fact, I have no idea, it will probably feel endless. lol!
Final Mont training ride @ Ourimbah!
North End of Red Hill Rd, Ourimbah State Forest. There's a large-ish parking area here, just off the main sealed road. There is also a smaller parking area a little further (400m or so from the road) where the trail splits - this second area is the usual meeting point. If you end up driving up a steep hill you've gone too far.
Last chance to practise some switchback climbs before the Mont 24 hrs.
This is a training ride with min 2 or 3 laps. The Ourimbah track is most representative of the Sparrow Hill 18 km's loop - with plenty of sniggle/switchback climbs, hardpack soil etc.
See you there!
Cheers, Hans

Happiness is a warm shock
CANCELLED - Cascades - 4 laps (too wet).
At the St Ives gate (Acron Oval), Douglas street, St Ives.
CANCELLED due to wet weather
4 full laps of Cascades with all gates.
This is my cross-country up-hill training ride. Long enough to have a similar elevation required for Dirtworks, close to home enough for a good rest after.
Please take care (observe the speed limits) on descends from the gates down to creek, and watch-out for walkers. On recent rides, i have seen more bike riders than walkers.
Training ride @ Terrey Hills
Park opposite/beside Terrey Hills shops, corner Booralie Rd/Yulong Ave. Or in the small carpark next to the RFS station & community centre.
Training ride for the upcoming Mont '09 race, but anyone would like to tag along... you are most welcome.
We are riding Perimeter & Long trail, possibly Duckholes & Centre, Salavation, Towlers. ~ 35 K's.
Training pace, but will split into 2 (slower/faster) groups if required.
Leaving from Terrey Hills at 7-30am sharp! See you there.
Cheers, Hans

Hard Hill Training
End of Wyatt Ave, Belrose - this is on the East side of Garigal National Park.
I'm doing my std hill training session but twice to cover about 50k. By doing all tracks up and down one lap becomes about 25ks. On a few occasions I've set out to do two laps but I always find an excuse to cut it short. Perhaps with some company and suitable peer pressure the full 50ks of pain can be endured.
Note, this is a reasonably hard ride and the 50ks should be covered in about 3 hours.
I set the limit to 4 but that can be extended in the unlikely event that there are enough characters out there who are intrested.
Cascades - 3 laps
At the St Ives gate (Acron Oval), Douglas street, St Ives.
3 full laps of Cascades with all gates.
This is my cross-country training ride ( have not done Cascades for nearly 6 months now). I am in for some serious lung busting punishments.
If it rains any day from now until Saturday, i won't be there, as Cascades does not usually dry out quickly.

Blue Mountains 100km Mutha Funster | Dirtworks Training
Meet at Glenbrook Train Station car park
This is going to be a big one - 100km.
The Oaks, Ingar and Andersons in reverse and back again.
http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Oaks-Ingar-...
This won't be for the faint-hearted, the first 50km is all climbing so expect no less than 5 blown lungs
Would prefer a small group but anyone not afraid of some serious hard work are more than welcome.
Hope to see you there.
