Awaba XC laps
Just up Jenkins Road from corner with Mount Faulk Road. See for details.
Okay, as discussed previously, I have not been to Awaba before and am very keen to have a trundle around the XC trail. Who's keen?
I have posted the ride for Australia day, as my other upcoming weekends are already full.
I plan on doing 3 or 4 laps, depending on daytime temps. These forests can get pretty hot (probaby noone needs any reminders of Ourimbah for the 12 hour). There is also the possibility of setting up a BBQ and downing a beer afterwards, if you were also keen for that.
Ourimbah training and exploring
North End of Red Hill Rd, Ourimbah State Forest. There's a large-ish parking area here, just off the main sealed road. There is also a smaller parking area a little further (400m or so from the road) where the trail splits - this second area is the usual meeting point. If you end up driving up a steep hill you've gone too far.
I've been doing too much road riding recently (which isn't saying much) so need to get the XC skills working.
Aiming to put in 3 or 4 training XC laps for training and fun, then potter off to explorer, perhaps up towards the tower and over the hill as I hear there are some trails over there. Then back down the DH track to the car and a beer. Ideally would like to be doing +50km.
If this sounds good to you (and why wouldn't it) bring lots of supplies and water, I don't think there are any taps there.
A Proper HTFU Training Ride
Glenbrook station carpark.
My semi regular Saturday morning training Ride - Oaks up plus detour and then back down.
This is a long and steady training ride it is not a smash fest but definately a hard ride it is non stop and not a social outing.
Starting at Glenbrook at 5.30am sharp I head up the Oaks then from Woodford I head further up the mountain for some sweet single track riding and then back to Woodford and down the Oaks. Its a good 4 and a bit hours in the saddle without a break if you cant ride for that amount of time without a stop then this ride is not for you.
Ourimbah.. 3 or 4 laps

Thinking of doing 3 or 4 laps, ( last time I was good for about 50min laps ). I figure that the pace will be inversely proportional to the number of Friday afternoon carbo loading beers..
leaving about 630 from Cromer, room in the truck for a couple more.
McPhail's and Meryla Pass
Kangaroo Valley
As per the ride posted by Herzog on 29.11.09 but probably doing Meryla Pass first to get the climbing out of the way and then the wonderful McPhail's downhill run. We have 3 riders (average age 40 plus !!) confirmed to leave Middle Cove at 6.32 am (traditional time for unknown reasons!).
Currently planning to take only 1 car but might take 2 if we have more takers. idea is to arrive down in Kangaroo Valley around 8.30-8.45 am. Now taking 2 cars as we have 4 so another 1 or 2 welcome !
Cascades!
Acron Oval Carpark, plenty of parking there and close to the start
Hello want to ride cascades. Start on douglas street (acron oval) + lower cambourne + quarry track + Ridge track + maybe some single behind the showground and back up to acron.
see you there
Ourimbah fun

Want to do a couple of laps on the relatively new bike, only been once before so if someone know's it well feel free to come along but I doubt we'll get lost!
