Majura Pines
Hi all, heading down to canberra for the weekend. Planning on riding at sparrow hill and majura pines. Have been to sparrow hill before but not majura. Is it easy enough to find your way around i.e. does it flow between sections like sparrow hill? I have the CORC map of the area - any recommendations for bits not to miss? Some of the photos on here look like there's some great stuff to play on and I'd hate to miss anything. Thanks for any help.
Ourimbah...
Just wondering if anyone has been to ourimbah lately, and its condition????
Does it close due to wet weather?? or just trail edicate..

Leaky New Forks - Please Help.
Just got a great deal on some Rockshox Revelation 426 forks from the US and received them today. Unfortunately, the box and it's contents were soaked in oil. I expected a little bit of oil to seep out of the seals in transit, but it is everywhere. Is this normal for a set of forks posted OS? Could the aircraft's air-pressure have affected the fork seals?
surfcoast 6 hours
My girlfriend has just moved to Melbourne and asked if we want to go and ride the surfcoast6hour event with them in October - does anyone know about this event or has anyone done it OR is anyone else interested in doing it? Apparently it starts at 4pm till 10pm and has solo, teams of two or three...
cheers!

My New Ride - Pivot Mach 4 (56k look out!)
Hey all,
Well, after months of waiting & anticipation, my Pivot Mach 4 frame arrived at the end of last week. I spent the morning building it up at BA (big props to everyone there, especially B.P.!), using all of the parts stripped from my Trance plus a few extras sourced here on the forums & from BA.
I'm stoked in the way that everything came together. All the parts bought over the last 2 years all seem to match the back & red of the Mach 4, and considering I didn't even know about the Pivots until just before X-mas, I'm even more stoked!
Oxford Falls open slather?
I noticed last night that all the signs, barriers and fences have been removed from the 'cross country loop' and 'moon rock' at Oxford Falls.
Is this the result of National Parks seeing the error in their ways, or have they just gone walkabout?
What is involved in a site upgrade?
For all the non-nerds out there I thought it might be interesting to give a small insight into what was involved with the site upgrade that happened over the weekend.
This also might be useful for any other admins out there upgrading from Drupal 5->6 (D5 to D6). Sadly this is still a little tricky, but hopefully upgrades will become less painful as the product matures.
Although Drupal 6 has been around since Feb 2008 it's taken 16 months to upgrade NoBMoB to this version, and here's why...
WAGs at Yellomundee
Is anyone interesting in a slow paced ride at Yellomundee either this weekend (18/19th) or next (25/26th)?
I was thinking of taking the GF to show her around. This would be a very slow paced ride and might be good if a few other WAGs could come along. Not that I propose this because it would mean they could sit around and chat at the cars when they tire and let us blast a lap or two out to make it worth the trip. No, that thought hadn't even crossed my mind!
Anyhow - anyone interested? When is good for you? I'm thinking mid-morning at the earliest.
Bicycle Security
With all the bikes being stolen out of people's garages and from events, leads me to think about bicycle security at home and in transit.
AT HOME
I have a fleet of bicycles who all live in my garage. They are all locked to eachother in some way (chains, cables, U shackles). However none of them are fixed to a solid object (like the floor or wall). Any ideas on how to store bikes securely at home.
IN TRANSIT
Cancellara's breathtaking downhill run
I was waiting for someone to put this on youtube so I could rave about it here. Anyone that didn't see Cancellara catch the rest of the field on stage 7 TdF should check this out. Anyone that did see it will probably watch it again anyway - this guy is awesome
WARNING - features NO MTB (Shock horror)

Training for Angry Doctor
Hi Everyone,
Does anyone have any recommendations for some long trail k's that don't have to be done multiple times like Manly Dam and not as easy as Terry Hills? I'd prefer to train around the northern beaches but to my understanding most trails would need to be rode a few times to get anywhere near 100km, I think I'd quit due to boredom if I had to ride the dam 10 times to get to 100km.
Thanks for any tips.
can't tell if my fork has remote lockout or not
Hi MountainBiker here. I just bought a new fork and i can't tell if it has remote lockout or not. Does anyone know how to tell if it does or not
here is a picture of the fork
Images and Videos from the recent NSW State DH Round at Awaba.
I've been updating the club website and among other things compiled a decent page of photo's from the recent state DH round at Awaba.
Rather than posting the images here, go to the HMBA site and check out - this link .
Some really good photo's in there.
Something that has really struck me though is the way the rock garden has evolved from this in 2005.
To this in 2007
and now this in 2009

Email notifications not working?
I'll have to test this more but I don't think I am getting mail notifications with the D6 upgrade. I wasn't getting PM alerts with the upgraded mail system on the old site. Is there a new setting I need to check?
MTB'g at Killingworth (Hunter Valley)
Hi all
I noticed recently that alot of land around Killingworth (Hunter Valley) is now under mgt by NPWS.
Are the mountain bike trails in this area still "legally" accessible to mountain bikers ? There used to be some great trails in this area.
I see that HMBA have now moved all racing to Awaba, but wanted to check if recreational mountain biking was still allowed on the preexisting Killingworth trails.
