Stop cable rub
I've just bought a new bike - 2007 Kona Coilair, and i am wondering if there are any products out there which protect the frame from cable rub. I've seen these vinyl stickers, that get stuck on the frame, but they're pretty ugly. was also thinking about sticky chair feet protectors to wrap around the cable, which has sticky and fury side.
any thoughts would be appreciated.
cheers

Popran NP
While looking at yesterday's slight exploration from Brieses Rd I noticed that Popran NP is just the other side of Peats Ridge Road.
There's a few trails marked in there so I traced them out to measure, came in 16.6Km all up, that means if one rides this lot out and back it's a nice 33Km ride:

Canon Ixus Goodies... free to a good home
Due to loss of an Ixus 500 camera I have the following Canon accessories lying around. They are free to a good home. PM me if you are interested.
* Three Canon NB-1LH batteries.
Battery for Canon Digital Ixus/Elph Powershot V/V2/V3/300/330/400/500/etc.
3.7v 840mAh Lithium Ion.
Two of these have seen a fair amount of use, but hold their charge very well. The third is used but pretty much in 'as new' condition.
* One Canon CB-2LS Battery Charger.
Charges NB-1LH batteries.
100-240V operation international model - has 2 flat prongs for use in Japan/USA/etc.

Speaking of LBS

warranty bikey stuff
If anyone remembers my little issue with my new Trek session 77 whereby the seat post clamp, when in an off centred position, hit the linkage and sheared a gouge out of it, and cut some outer tubing of the brake hose too, which although was mainly cosmetic (except for the brake hose hehe), was rather upsetting..

NEW BIKE!
So I took the plunge and got myself a trials bike! Its pretty amazing. In anticipation I was trying to learn to back hop on my giant (no success) and on dads green machine hardtail (still no success) and almost as soon as i got on it i was able to 1-3 hops on the rear wheel before falling off. Sweet.

Amusing little article as to why one needs to shave and wear lycra when one gets on a road bike. At least he admits it's partly to fit in with the crowd

More Lithgow Shenanigans...
Hello all,
I have been thinking that we never did get all those Lithgow trails completed the last time we were there. Also, the videos that Flynny has posted makes these potential trails look pretty awesome. We just have to get back there!
Having made some polite enquiries with some of you, there does appear to be some keen interest. But we really do need Flynny's help to make sure we go to the right places. Can you help us Flynny?? I have already taken a request for the glow worm tunnel thingy. What trails do the rest of you want to do? Let's do a weekend away!

Awaba State Downhill Finals
Well you guys asked me to post it, so here are the details:
http://www.farkin.net/news/95556/IXS_Gravity_DH_...
Probably not the best track to have your first Downhill riding/racing experience on (severe understatement), but I hope some of you can come along and enjoy the show. There will be food, raffles, industry pit area and lots of great spectator vantage points along the track.

The Academy of Sport
The Academy of Sport entrance doesn't cause you to cross private land, since, as I understand it, the academy of sport is on public land.
It does, however, as the 10 million signs will inform you, require you to be a criminal trespasser.Technically, a security guard could, should you fail to give him your name, detain you there.
That said, noone seems to mind.
If you are intent on being a rebellious outlaw, at least be discreet.
IE.
- park in the main carpark, not at the trail head
- drive very slowly
- give way to pedestrians
- don't play music really loud

The power of the "Mob"
Ok, a bit of a stretch here as far as being site related but I saw this on the late news last night and thought it was worth sharing if only to show the power of the Mob. (Yeah I know tecnically speaking its a herd but you get the drift)
Look closely for the attack from the water.
BTW park rangers searched and could find no signs of a carcass, ie it survived

Bike Football? Radball?
Thanks to Flynny and Matt O for these...

This is apparently 'Radball'... looks like a quick way to gain a few injuries to me!

Baby seat
guys,
i would like to take my baby daugther out for rides, and i was wondering if anyone had experience with bicycle baby seats. i would like to get one that goes in teh front (as i would like the little girl to see more than just her daddy's a$$) and i guess like many modern fully suspended bikes i need something that is fairly flexible when it comes to mounting options.
any ideas?

Freedom Marathon Sept 22nd
Anybody know anything about this ride beyond what is on the web site??
The site says 2008 but I am pretty sure it is 2007...

new tyres for a newbie
Hey guys, pretty new to the sydney trails, originally from up north way, the Atherton Tablelands in the far north of queensland.
Been here just over a year and finally got my bike back of my brother.
So i have noticed that my tyres are all but gone.
I am wondering what type, brand etc you have had success with.
I ride a DiamonBack Zetec sport, At the moment i have some 26X1.75's on, Michellin's(spellcheck). And on my last ride were left wanting!! as my knee can confirm!
thinking maybe a little chunkier, but not too much.
I guess most of my riding would be XC style,
