I'm *almost* back on the bike...

So after 5-ish weeks off the bike due to the broken wrist (scaphoid) I finally had the cast taken off yesterday!

Back on the stationary gym-bike today, and hoping to be back on the real bike in a few weeks time.
I'll need to, given the 10kg of beer-weight I've put on...

See you on the trails soon,
Don

Free bike frame and bits - free to good home

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

I've built up a couple of bikes lately and have some spare parts in boxes on my balcony that i'd like to see someone get some use out of.

I pulled all the good bits off my old Gary Fisher and put them on my wife's Trek. All the bits off the 2006 Trek 4300 (below) that were replaced i offer free to a good home (perhaps an upgrade on the wife or kids bikes)
She hasn't ridden the bike much (about 60km) and all the gear is in very good condition. She hasn't learnt how to huck it yet Eye-wink

NPWS Task Force

Hay Rob ,have you heard any news on the task force looking into NPWS ?
Have they had it yet ? did they actually do anything to help our sport ?
I hope all those letters actually got read and discussed by the boffins
and not just filled away in the bin.

Angry Doctor: Rob....Oh Dear not again!

As I parked my bike at the 80km check point I heard my name being called out, Greg,,,, Greg,,,,I thought I know that voice. Looking around, nothing. Looked further to find Rob resting behind the food table using a branch as a pillow.... the rest you can see in my blog.

What a race!

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

What a race, that would have to be my favourite course ever, the relentless climbing was soon forgotten when whooping around the single track that seemed to get better as the race progressed. I found the track exciting and at the same time safe with no sudden surprises, I hit a max speed of 66.3kmph and I'm keen to hear what others did especially your max Steve01 crazy man? I think I went out a little hard early (like most) as I had a 50km time of 3:00:55 and the 2nd 50km took 24 mins longer so maybe a slower 1st half may have resulted in a shorter overall time.
