Racing Ralphs wont inflate
Need some help guys, I have some 26x2.25 Racing Ralphs, using DT X1800 Wheelset with Stans and am having some problems getting my new Racing Ralphs to inflate, I have been previously using Fat Alberts and I can take them off and on and they inflate easily, however the RR wont inflate at all. From what I can see the bead isnt sitting nicely against the edge of the rim and so wont hold air.
Any suggestions on how I can get them to inflate as I keen to use this tyre for racing and would prefere not to have to order a Crossmark or something else.

What to look out for in 2nd hand bikes
Hi all,
I'm looking at upgrading to a dualie, though with budget constraints it will be 2nd hand. So just wanted to know what I should be looking out for on a 2nd hand bike. I've got the checking the welds for cracks but as for suspension and the rest I get a bit lost, so any advice would be great.
cheers

Great training website
Not sure if any one has already seen this but I'm currently looking into getting a TRX suspension system for general training and came across this website.
Looks like a great resource for all things MTB training related and the content seems quite informative. The home page is a blog but on the right there is a load of resources including nutrition, core training, routines, etc.
wanted to blag: a lift back from Jet Bacl 24
Hi All
I am wondering if anyone would be able to give me and a bike a lift back from the JB 24 to Manly on the Sunday afternoon? I'll be spending Friday night out there with the wife and kids and then sending them home on Saturday afternoon (that was it's a family activity rather than bloody dad and his bikes again) so I'd like to avoid having to take two cars out there so I can get back on Sunday.
If anyone from the area has space it would make life a lot easier for us but it's not critical
thanks in advance

Why the trail extension at Narrabeen Lagoon is expen$ive
I know Rob has questioned the cost of the trail extension between Deep Creek and the car park near the NSW institute of sport. After watching the construction progress over the past few months I stopped this week to take a few photos.
Is Tathra the best holiday mtb destination?
I guess we are talking about the best destination that won't generate suspicion in the family that riding is the only reason you are there! Yes there are other better pure mtb places but for a family holiday or holiday with a partner is there any better NSW summer destination?:
Tathra is a great little town on the south coast with great beaches. The far south coast has the lowest rainfal of the NSW coast so a good chance of being dry.
CIII Outdoor Rec (Mountain Biking) - TAFE
Northern Beaches TAFE is enrolling students in a CIII in Outdoor Recreation and you specialise in Mountain Biking Friday 28/1/11 (12pm-7pm, Brookvale TAFE, RM A.2.10). That's right there is a course and career for MTB!!!
For some further info head to: http://www.nsi.tafensw.edu.au/Default.aspx and type in 'Outdoor Recreation' in the 'find a course' tab or contact Liam Daley ([email protected])
If you can't make it but still are keen send me an email and if it doesn't fill up we can get you enrolled.
Forum Round up for Jan 27
Hope you were all out there yesterday. A belated Happy Australia to all!
Just a quick round up of hot forum threads this week:
- The Black Flash made some Interesting observations regarding the different help one can expect after an off on dirt and the black stuff.
- And talking of offs, someone else asked was it time for a New Helmet?
- Rune wants a Guide to building my own MTB?
- muzg doesn't want to build, just to know Which XC dual suspension bike for under $3K?
- While others don't care, they just wanted to share the joy of My new Rig
- But what everyone really wants to know is 29er vs 26er what's the verdict
- Once you've got that bike, Motneb asked about filming One hand video anyone!
- Yet another thread surfaced on Shimano shoes
- Find some humour in the freaky snake! thread
- Elsewhere the BMORC guys should be congratulated on their BMORC BBQ Fundraiser Results!
Phew...
Infinit Nutrition - Heavily Discounted Today
Dont know if anyone else uses Infinit Nutrition for racing like I do, however today they are having a pretty epic sale on custom formula on two bags and 1 for recovery.
Basically 50% off from 12-2pm today QLD time, 2.01pm - 4pm 40% off and 4.01pm to Midnight 20% off.
http://www.infinitloop.com/2011/01/rules-and-dis...
Its easy to mix your own formula using the guide and I will be taking advantage of this offer as its very good.
Hills
Can anyone suggest some good places for some hill training on a trail of some sort?
Something that will have a good 5-10 minute climb on dirt.
I live near the city so can access most places in a comparable time.
Thx
[Mod. moved to Northern Beaches]
BMORC vs WSUC
Two wheels are not always better than one. See if you can recognise the BMORC rider, or should I say runner, who challenged WSUC at the drop off.
stuck seat post
hello & help...I have a gaint XTC-C1 that I bolt around the streets of perth on i put razor blades on it so its super fast (cont'ys sport contact) retied from the dirt i now have a epic carbon comp2010..anyway i wish to lift the seat about 10mm max but its stuck hard ive had in the vice upside down & it wont shift....apart from going to a bike shop is ther anyway to fix it the bike is carbon the seat post is alloy....
Seat post
Probably a stupid question but I wanted to check prior to placing on online order with CRC. I have an old 27.2mm seatpost that just misses being clamped down on, the old post was 28mm and I thought it would work If I order a shim that says 27.2-28mm would this work or would the tube just slide down inside the shim?
Stationary bike power
Because of injury i've been training on a stationary bike at the gym. Just wondering if there is any guide for power or if its pretty irrelevant?
Due to my supreme lack of fitness i can hold around about 125 watts for about 10minutes at rpm of 90-95.
Training Partners?
Someone (from this forum!) who shall remain nameless has charmed me into joining his Mont 24 mixed sixes team, so now I've got to get all serious and do some training. Well, actually I was looking for an excuse to keep in shape and having him to blame is wonderfully convenient.
Knapsack group ride, Tims way.
Would like to do a group ride in and around knapsack the way I like to go, I have an aprox 20km loop in mind. Was thinking this Saturday as the ws4hr is on Sunday. Would anyone be interested in this? Thinking 8am start.
Cycling in the News?
Sorry if this is vaguely related to road riding, but it's also a comment on the media and what interest (or lack there of) they have in cycling.
This weeks TDU (Tour Down Under) has seen a number of Aussie youngsters shine at what is a Pro Tour event. There were surely a number of incredible talents on show this week that we'll see much more of in the future.
To set the scene, 5 of the top 10 finishers were Aussie, with our guys placing first, second, fourth, ninth and tenth.
MTB Shoes Compatibility
Hi
I have started riding a road bike and i was wondering if it was possible to use my Specialized MTB shoes with a 2 bolt pattern on a shimano 105 group set that includes a 3 bolt cleat system
Interesting observations
An interesting observation - from my perspective.
Saturday morning a mate and i went scumming (road biking) out to West Head (his bike was being rebuilt, so it was the only option for a ride). Just like a few others over recent months, i had an off - at around 70kmh going around a corner. The carnage trail was 25m long and quite obvious. My current state was also quite obvious - totalled bike, and i was a tad messed up to say the least (lycra doesnt tend to be compatable with the road...), so acres of skin missing.
replaceing rear derailer cable
the rear derailer shift is getting heavy on my trance, was thinking of replaceing cable with a full lenght houseing. Any advice on brand and weather this is a good idea also was thinking of re routing it down under bottom bracket away from shock and to achieve a smoother path.
