Lupine Lighting Systems
Hi all
Looking in a splurge for Chrissy on some new lights for the bike.
Can anyone give me some 'real' feedback on either the Wilma 7 or the Wilma 5 from Lupine Lighting Systems.
Would be good for someone who has had some hands on experience on either of these systems to provide some feedback on how these systems function, operate, reliability, battery life etc.
For the $$$ I would like to know if I am getting what I am paying for.

Padded short to protect hips
I am thinking of buying shorts with some sort of protection for the hips. Every time i fall i hit my hips and make big bruises really annoying and at this age i don't recover that fast
Any recomendations, anyone has used any sort?
Ride Cascades + Wildflower
Anyone interested in doing Cascades + Wildflower ride at 3-3:30pm tomorrow (Tuesday). The only issue is I am not sure if there is still access behind the Wildflower Garden?
Cheers

Fling 09 - Review
Hope you all had a great event... mine was hampered by my first mechanical DNF in maybe 10 events. Smashed Derailleur 14Km into 112km was not part of the plan! First broken derailleur in near 10yrs of MTB so I am hoping to get back on that run of reliability!
The main reason for the post is to thank Russ (Smiley) for loaning me his bike so I could ride the the last section from Wingello back to Bundanoon.
Russ was suffering a little after rides two days in a row and had decided to pull the pin even after plenty of encouragement.
Saturday or Sunday ride (14/11 or 15/11)
So not been out riding anywhere in Sydney before and this will be my first ride out.
I dont have a car on Saturday but keen to get out somewhere local (I am in Chatswood) and can ride to Manly I guess, Sunday I do have a car so could do something further afield is possible.
So yeah looking to get out this weekend really.
Full fling entry available - going cheap (or free)
After getting all my gear ready, giving the bike a full strip down service, and keen to finish the year's events on a good note, I've come down with a sore throat last night and feeling like crap today.
If you want a full fling entry, (I'd hate it to go to waste), give me a call and make an offer. It would be nice to get 'something' for it, but if you're a student or someone who can get there but can't afford the entry fee, tell me your story and I might even let it go for free rather than waste it!
Give me a buzz if interested.

Red hill ride direction
Can anybody tell me the best direction to ride the red hill trails?....i have been up there and still yet to work out where i shound be going!
So far i have headed from the plateau at the carpark down past the bmx track and then along a longish downhill section eventually ending up next to the rural fire station on willandra road. I was told that i coould then rejoin the trail by cromer golf coarse and head back that way. Anyway, it would be appreciated if somebody could tell me the best loop to do in the area with a bit of freeride thrown in!?
Kind regards
Matt.

Highland Fling - Your Call - What's the fastest option?
In the final stage of the Fling there is a climb called "your call" with two options - short and steep or longer and less steep. I'm thinking I'll go for the short steep option. Does anyone else have advice on this?

Seating of non-UST tyres in tubeless mode
Just fitted a set of non UST Nobby Nic and Racing Ralph tyres on rims with Stans rim strips - first time with this brand. They aired up ok up to 50psi, but I didnt hear any seating pop. Just checking if anyone has done this also - do they need to 'pop' to seat properly?? Any risk if they dont seat properly?

Oaks trail - advice needed
One of my buddies (new nobmobber kiwi_phil) is organising a ride with a few mates to the Oaks trail in a few weeks.
Given my present constraints (post shoulder repair surgery, not allowed to risk falling off yet) am I asking for trouble? Or is it relatively unchallenging technically like say Perimeter + Long if I take it easy? I've been playing with things like riding down short sets of stairs, but there are no traction problems to catch you out there.
Thanks for your advice, guys.

Scott vs Look
Armed with new funds from cashing in my old mountain bike, I am setting out to purchase a new Hardtail Cross Country racer.
I am looking for opinions from other bikers as to which would be a good choice for my new baby. I am looking for something definately race-worthy, with maximum speed and power transfer. Not looking for an amateur ride or forgiving bike here! In the end, I am looking to tweak the build down to about 8kg in the long run.
At the moment I have it narrowed down to these two pretty things:
Look 986 XC Origin
Frame: HM Carbon, Monobloc T2T

Avanti Help needed please
Hey All
I'm new to this site and the whole scene so im way over my head hear lol. I was wondering if some one could please tell me which is the better bike out of the Avanti Ridge Ryder 2009 model or the 2010 model. At first i assumed the 2010 model would be better till i read some specs. But maybe im just to much of a noob to understand it properly i left 2 links with the specs for each bike could you please leave your opinions as to which one is better and why. Thanks in advance Allan

Has anyone been MTBing in Adelaide/SA?
well it's getting to that time of the year when the Christmas/NY road trip needs to get sorted. The past 2 years we have taken the bikes through Victoria, but this year we were thinking of heading to Sth Australia to try out the riding there and maybe stop in at Mt Buller on the way back.
I've searched the site and can't find any comments from people who have actually ridden in SA. I have found a great mtb site http://www.adelaidemtbtrails.com/ to give us some idea of the riding.
Pedals again! Shimano to Cranks
This could be a dumb question but here goes.
I've just got a new bike and opted to have some Crank Candy C's fitted. I currently have Shimano 545's on the old bike which I still intend to ride.
It looks to me like they have completely different cleat fittings, is there anyway to use both bikes with the same pair of shoes without changing cleats (which is a pain)
Cheers
