Noooooooooo!

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Nooooooo my beautiful bike already damaged after 3 months. I think i'm going to cry like an Aussie swimmer. I only noticed when i was cleaning my bike after a ride today that i have scratched my Fox Shock. Options? ? Use some nail polish, super glue, or hard set resin to fill in the slight scratch and then gently sand it back ? Send it off to be repaired properly? or ?????? i don't know.... The fork is a Fox Float RLC FIT...

Mont Blanc Barracuda bike racks

Hey all.

After a couple of laps of Appin the other week, I realised I have lost the key to my Mont Blanc barracuda bike racks. This could be a bit of a long shot, but was wondering if anyone out there in Nobmob land might have a spare floating around. It's the black plastic type (number 47) that locks the clamps around the frames.
I've tried a couple of roof rack shops but haven't had too much joy. We managed to pull the bikes off, but the clamps are locked so can't really use them at the moment.

Any help appreciated,

Cheers, Dave.

Tubeless conversion

Ghetto conversion with

Alex DP20 rim on rear with Kenda Small block 8 folding 2.35. - the bead set as soon as I put it on at the servo.

Kmart $4 20" tube - was cut down the middle for a rim strip.

Nitto electrical tape 18mm - spoke tape. wrapped nice and tight.

Brushing Latex $40 mixed with Windex and water.

Running 35psi on the back with tube, so wondering how low I could go for a 95kg rider + gear.

Husky vs Fling

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

I was wondering if anyone could share their opinion on the husky vs fling. I did the husky last month and it was my first 100km. Took me 7 hrs... Anyway a few riders said to do the fling and its a great enduro which I've now entered but I've heard since then it's a much tougher ride than the husky and a lot more climbing. That's cool if it is but if anyone can share their experiences I can suss out how much I really need to step up the training. Cheers all.

Hey Guys

Any good suggestions?

Linden Ridge Single track

G'day guys,

I have been liaising with NPWS to try and get approval to trim back the Linden Ridge single track.

It's been a slow process and we still don't have approval. Firstly they had to work out who's jurisdiction it belonged to. That has been solved now they need to know more about the track as there isn't much known about.

The ranger in charge has been out to investigate but could not find its start or the photographed sign post found in our rides database.

Garmin - multiple courses

Is there a way to display more than 1 trail at the same time on the Garmin Edge 800?

Reason why, is that when I go out, I have setup beforehand a trail to follow. But then I have also another trail (or two) for other possible trail(s) to explore. So, is it possible to have more than 1 trail in what they call a 'course'? or to display 2 courses at the same time?

And also, on the same subject; why does my trail display purple – when I've setup on BaseCamp (+ again on the course options, from the unit) to be bright red?

…if someone from iOS could move to Garmin?1

19th hole track upgrades/downgrades

Rode the dam today and i must say that i am dissapointed with the boulders trail fairies have put on the top of the 19th hole.

The boulders have totally wrecked the flow for anyone wishing to take the more technical line!

These things need to be rearranged to cater not only for beginners run but also for the more advanced run.

29er Tyres

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Looking to replace the Racing Ralph's (front and rear) that came with my HT 29er.

Being in Perth, mainly ride at the Camel and Goat Farms, but also getting into the club races and doing the enduro events (but nowhere near the front)

Running tubes. Looking for good front traction.

Been suggested Crossmarks, another combo is Specialzed Captain (Front) and Renegade in the rear.

Any other suggestions?

Stolen. 2004 Norco 6

Hi all,

Had my 2004 Norco 6 stolen from my apartment complex in McMahons Point on the 24/07/2012, actually saw the guy riding off with it but was too slow to catch him!

The frame size is a large (19'') and everything is pretty much stock.

A few pointers is that it has black DMR pedals, a red DMR sticker on the chain stay, extremely worn grips (have zip ties and the bar ends missing) and maxxis tires.

Not holding much hope but it's pretty hard to miss so any info will be a huge bonus! If anyone sees anything it would be great if you can let me know.

Cheers! Joel.

State Inquiry into the Access to Public Land - NP, Stateforest, Crown Land etc

I don't know too much about this, but i just found this on a Ducati Owners Group forum and thought it was relevant for here.

Seems there is an inquiry into access to public land and something that we would be well served by people putting submissions into. Bit of a worry it is chaired by the shooters and fishers party, but we need to get onto this.

Spread the word on this one.

A penguin takes his car to a mechanic to get it looked over. Mechanic says it will take about an hour.
So, to kill some time the penguin goes across to road to get an ice cream. You know how much penguins love ice cream.
But the little guy's got no thumbs and can't hold it properly and ends up getting the soft serve all over his face.
Anyway, he heads back to the mechanic to get his car. Mechanic says "Looks like you blew a seal"
Penguin responds "Oh no, thats just a little ice cream"

Mountain Bike Shoes - recommendations?

Have struggled away for years with a reliable and robust but clunky pair of specialised lead-monsters

Feel I am ready to graduate to lightweight to help improve times.

Any suggestions? -

thinking of going to Crank Brothers Egg Beater as well

Cleats question

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

A couple of questions that I am sure you guys will know the answer to.

1. I've only been riding cleats for the past six months but all of a sudden I am struggling to get in and out of them (Shimano spd). Would it be possible that because I have them on the loosest setting that this is occurring? They kind of feel like they get caught sometimes when getting out of them and sometimes I'll be riding for a while before I can slam them in. When I got them this didn't happen and I felt quite comfortable getting in and out of them.
