Ride between Wiseman's ferry and Mangrove creek dam.
Hey fellow bikers.
I regularly ride from Wisemans ferry and my fav circuit trail includes Simpsons and Donny's tracks. However since I am in training for the Convict 100 and need to do some miles, I plan to extend my ride from the bottom of Donny's track to Mamgrove Creek dam. has anybody ridden all the way up Tenn mile hollow road/upper mangrove creek rd? It seems like there is a track called Blue door point road that joins up with the road leading to the dam.
Any knowledge of rising around the dam will be great.. Thanks
Found multi-tool pacific highway
Hi all, found a multi-tool on the pacific highway cycling home on Friday evening - just after the bridge. No traffic as I came past so I picked it up
If anyone lost one let me know.
Jesmond Bushland track cleared
I have been up in Jesmond Bushland (George McGregor Park) and cleared an old XC single track that starts 50 meters up the road from the drinking bubbler on Cambridge Dr, and joins at the bottom of the hills on the track that starts at the very top of McCaffrey Dr. This track forms a good little loop and stops the need to back track. What it needs now is some wheels to run over it to keep it clear. If you are riding Jesmond, give this track a go.
appin, yellowmundee, camden river, kentlyn????
Anyone ridden any of these today and can provide an update?
Hoping out of the lot these may be rideable at least....
Component cleaning
What is the best chemicals/cleaning products to use when cleaning the dirty black grit out of components?
Isn't it odd how we all value used bikes..... Discussion topic
Based on nothing more than observation over the last few years I always seem to find it odd that some categories of bikes seem to naturally demand disproportionate prices compared to others.
Cast an eye over the classifieds here and in other areas of selling and you will see the same trend.
Downhill bikes, although generally the same value new tend to depreciate like lead balloons. A fair way up the ladder comes dual suspension trail and all mountain machines. Topped by road bikes that tend to lose the least amount of value over a similar period of time.
Stuff this wet weather
Stuff this wet weather Im off to Mt Buller !!! Any advice on trails to ride & ones not to bother with ?
Prescription Riding Specs - Advice please
Can anyone advise on getting prescription glasses for riding? I can't wear contacts anymore and need bi-focals. So good riding specs are in order. Anybody using frames (for script lenses) that you like? Can anybody suggest a good sports optometrist? Thanks in advance. Tim
Old stuff
Cleaning up the shop found some old articles from the Lithgow mercury
New bike time
Because it's a little more than a sport, a little less than a religion ad one hell of a way of life
Because life's to short to be bored
Because Andrew Penny urged everyone to get out and become part of the glorious past of somebody elses future
Because i hang out in the places other people would rather be, if only they knew of them

Crazy Ideas
How much would it cost to build a mega shed somewhere for the purpose of housing an all weather indoor Mountain bike track? If you were clever you could design trails to change routes (like train tracks) to go from being a low tech XC run to a more challenging one??? Think big, like Woolworths warehouse big! Also think of Golden Jubes, but undercover. You could keep the greenies happy by collecting all the rain water! And we'd lighten the load on wet trails...
Yes i know, the rain is driving me crazy! But if this was Dubai....
Jamis Dakota d29 Team and d29 Pro? Thoughts?
Wondering if anyone out in MTB land has a Jamis Dakota 29er, preferably d29 Team or d29 Pro? If not has had exposure, for example been on a ride or a friend has one, or otherwise has any thoughts? I have looked over the net where there is a lot of useful information, however would like to know if anyone has any additional thoughts (good, bad, other) to inform my thinking.
Thanks

dislocated shoulder
hi guys,
had my shoulder dislocated about 10 days ago in a head on collision with a motorbike.
doctor says I might need surgery but won't find out until next week
has anyone been through this before? just trying to get a handle on how long I'll be off the bike.
the doctors are being very vage about it.
might get a roll trainer in the meantime but I saw there's another post about it already.
also, if anyone would like to recommend a physio or specialist around the eastern suburbs... please do.
the goal is to still do the capital punishment which is in about 8 weeks.
thanks
Bike build advice
Hi All,
I am currently starting to get all the parts to build my new bike, looking at making it more of a DH setup as they frame can be used for both FR & DH.
I am trying to decide on either Fox 40s or Boxxer World Cups up front, just am after any advice, which one handles the Perth ride areas better, where are service centres if requiried?
Also has anyone got any parts from the below site? There prices seem too good to be true, any help on this would be great. I am looking at getting the front forks from them.

So driving through Burwood last week I decided to pop in and check out CYCLEWORLD after hearing some positive things about their range and service - I wasn't disappointed and just wanted to share the positive experience.
Enduro Saddle
I am after some input on a good Enduro Saddle, I have tried Specialized, WTB and Fizik with uncomfortable results after 3hrs.

Reassembling Anthem... after servicing RP23.
I've viewed other posts & Youtube vids in regards to the actual service, but I'm a little worried about just how to remove & reassemble the RP23 from my 2009 Anthem.
I've searched & can't find any info on the rear triangle assembly & torque pressures for re-assembly. Anyone?
BMNP
I hear that Blue Mountains NAtional Park has contracted an outside company to do some trail maintenance in Glenbrook, does anyone have more information on this?
Stationary 101

An example of collaboration, development and management - it can be done
I'm sitting here on the deck of our family beach house at Catherine Hill Bay (29km south of Glenrock & Newcastle) with a glass of wine typing this post reflecting on the thoroughly enjoyable ride I had early this Saturday morning at Glenrock State Conservation Area. I rode for 2 hours in all and was pretty bushed by the end of the ride. But what a great ride!
