Ourimbah - Saturday 12th July
I'm heading to Ourimbah this Saturday morning to do some training laps for Doctor & Scott.
If anyone's interested in joining me, i'd enjoy the company.
I'll be there from around 7 - 7:30 till about 10:30 - 11pm
3-4 laps i hope, Tho riding past the car each lap is pretty hard.

Newbie looking to ride
Hi! My name is Winco. Just bought first MTB. GT Av1.0. Nice 'n shiny! Needs to get dirty. Have been riding and practising on-road but would now like to get stuck into some offroad riding. Need someone to go riding with to show me the ropes/where to go on Manly Dam, Terry Hills, etc. Anybody interested or can I join up with anyone going riding this weekend locally.
Thanks - Winco
Increasing stroke length
I have my eye on upgrading the septune shock on my 05 Stumpy 120.
It's a 7.5 x 1.75, but I can only find a 7.5 x 2.00 for a replacement (Fox float)
Will the extra .25 inch stroke make much/any difference to the fit or geometry etc
I recently updated my fork to one with 140mm travel from the previous 130mm if this has any relevence to the answer.
Single speeds
GDAY FOLKS,
have been keen to get into single speed riding for a while now
and have started looking around at options
am looking for a 26" medium frame w/ a 80 to 100 mm fork
something i could ride around the streets, maybe even a lap of manly dam
have rung most of the bike shops and no real positive response
Being an engineer, was contemplating buying an old 2nd hand XTC or similar,
cutting out old hangers and welding in horizontal drop outs,
fitting a conversion kit and running 32-16? ratio??
am hoping to keep cost below $1000
any ideas and info would be appreciated

Del Sin
Ok managed to get myself down Wisemans Ferry way for some DH action with the WSMTB club at their new little venue At the Del Rio Water Ski Park.
Wow. Nice techie trail in a very pretty gully with some big drops, techie roll downs and fast single track.
WSMTB put on a good show and the Del Rio resort have given them a bit of room to play with the DH track up and running a freeride area under way and XC trail in the works.
Wanted - medium size 4" dual suspension frame & shock
I've a friend with a Scott hardtail frame, and he wants to move to dual suspension.
He's got all the running gear incl a new 4" Marzocchi fork, decent wheels, XT drivetrain, disk brakes etc.
Budget: $750ish
Ideal frames: Stumpjumper, or other horst link frame, Giant Trance, etc. Could go a bit higher for the 'right' frame.
Prefer something with a reasonable pedaling platform.
So, if have something, or you are considering trading 'up' to something newer and looking to move your frame on in the near future let me know.

Done lurking
G'day All,
Just a short note to introduce myself, since I've been lurking long enough.
Two years ago I did the DW100 on my first bike, a Kona Firemountain, and developed this addiction to all things MTB.

(N-1)+1= Really happy!
So on the same day I sold my reign X1 and picked up this bad boy. First impressions are that its amazing. It pedals sooo well with the DHX 5. On that note though, the first thing to strike me is how high the gearing is. Even though its a Dh bike, I'd really like to have a granny gear just for pottering about in at the bottom of runs. Its also reasonably heavy. The Fox 40s are HUGE! and all in al it just soaks up everything. Can't wait to get it on the trails although that won't be for a while because Im away for two weeks army.
Enjoy.

Tour De Jump
Hey,
Ive been looking around for the jump that the mountain biker did over the peleton in the Tour de France a few years ago but I cannot find it. Does anyone know where it is?
Seems apt to view it again since the tour starts up in a few days.

Are you up for some School Holiday Fun?
Just wondering if anyone else has time off during the school holidays and was keen on having some mid-week rides?
I'm keen to check out some of the trails on the Northern Beaches as I haven't ridden there before. Otherwise, I'll be trying to ride my local, Ourimbah, as often as I can and would appreciate the company.
Let me know if you're interested and we'll post something more specific.
