Cascades update for 24 Feb
I rode Heath track down and back this afternoon, with a loop of lower Cambourne thrown in for fun.
The hills are ok, in fact quite dry but lots of loose largish rocks.
However the bottom of the hill is still a bit wet and a few puddles.
Came across two groups of walkers this evening too - both friendly and said hello

Notice of Motion
Councillor daveh has proposed the following motion:
Item 6.2.2:
That the steep boardwalk with the steps at the top be known as Laugesen's Climb.
It's painful and tiring but once it's over, hopefully it's well worth the effort!
Seconded: Councillor Beresford
Do we have speakers for or against, or should we move straight to the vote?

Protest ride cancelled...
By me at least!
I am waiting for the Inspector to call me back so that I can officially withdraw our application for the protest.
I really feel that organising a mass ride around the dam will not be a benefit to us and will just irritate the residents.
The Inspector feels this would be ‘negative publicity’ and work against us in the long run.

Need a Good Financial Advisor
As the title says really, need a good financial advisor for some information around Novated Leases, Tax Benefits etc.
Can anyone recommend a decent FA, that ideally isnt going to charge a bomb, City based would be helpfull.
Can anyone help?

Council meeting results: battle won, war still going
I just wanted to express my gratitude to all of you who turned up. I was the tall corporate looking guy in the black suit two rows from the front with the blue tie.
Your presence and and good humour made a significant difference tonight. I didn't do a count of numbers, but we did indeed pack the chamber, to the point where the mayor invited those standing at the back to take up spare seats at the side. I'd also like to thank Councillors Virginia Laugesen, Vincent De Luca, and Christina Kirsch for their support and sleepless nights spent working to deal with this issue.

Manly Dam opened again
Quick update.. just got home from council meeting.
1. Dam is to reopened until the plan of action is sorted. (6 months ish).
2. Walkers are being prohibited from using the trail. (not great.. )
3. They will be looking to re-instate volunteer days again.
The general consensus is to cancel the protest rides. If people are going to ride on the 6th go for it, but perhaps it will be best to spread out so we don't cause any issues.
More updates to come once we get the minutes (and I have had my dinner!)

return to red hill?
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
Red Hill Reserve car park, off Lady Penryhn Drive, Beacon Hill. Another option is to ride over here from Oxford Falls.
A tour of the hill for anyone that's up for it.
Its not a Downhill ride, nor is it an XC ride.. lets just call it a technical ride
Planning about a 15K ride, no real need for armor, I don't wear it (famous last words?) but of course your more than welcome to wear it as there will be plenty of opportunities to go crazy ( if your into that kinda thang ).. you just gotta be prepared to wear it for some uphill as well.
