Manly Dam update for 06 Feb

Area:
Manly Dam
Status:
Red/Closed With the rain today adding to yesterday's soaking, the track will be a quagmire in a lot of places and easily damaged. Best to stay away until the rain has left us alone for a couple of days. Pittwater Rd Manly Vale was starting to flood this afternoon.

Once again, the community shows itself more responsible than the authorities. Well done people. Manly Warringah Rangers - shame on you!
I stopped a couple of newbs on hire bikes just as they were about to start the trail at the Public School car park earlier this afternoon.
One of them had slicks on!
They had no idea the trail should not be ridden in the rain. Apart from wanting to shake the guy who hired them the bikes and probably pointed them to the Dam trail, the council really needs to have permanent signage with a brief explanation of trail etiquette... Rule #1 of which needs to be "don't ride this trail when wet!"
I drove past yesterday and was surprised to see that there were no 'Dam Closed' signs up anywhere. C'mon rangers, get your act together!
