Awaba State Forest
Status:
Green/Open Perhaps Green is being a bit generous - pretty slippery up at the top beyond CamelBack Hill and on the way down the other side. Clay bits rather soggy and slippy/slidey. Some climbs a bit dicey for traction.
Rest of track quite firm and tacky.
Love the new work that has been done since my last visit there - congrats to all involved!

hey, is it muddy enough that its going to make the rocky trail a little bit more difficult? should i be bring some big tread tyres?? or will my kenda nevegal 2.1 be sufficient? what do u think?
weather forcast is for a dry( but cold) and sunny week so awaba should be perfect by sat, your nevegals will be just the ticket allthough I allways take some options just in case ! I am going to do a lap of the track on friday arv and make my final tyre decision then.
I rode Awaba yesterday, It was sweet and surprisingly in good condition after the rain. The only sketchy section was the Red loop descent, a bit slippery and soggy! The Blue loop was fine and good riding.
I rode Glenrock today. It is holding up well too, however there are some water pools and muddy parts in lower areas and gullys.
Great work trail builders you have made some great improvements recently.
Spokey
heading there is the track or turnoff easy to find , my GPS brings up Awaba at Lake Macquarie which is at least half hr away , I have a navman GPS
at Lake Macquarie is not really where the track is - it's closer to Morriset and there are coordinates for the parking on the site, just can't remember the road name.
Car park is off Mt. Faulk Road. The park is in Olney State Forest.
Get off the Sydney to Newcastle freeway at Freemans Drive. Turn onto Freemans Drive, then the next right is Mount Faulk Road.
