Area:
Manly Dam
Status:
Amber/Some Issues Even with the nice weather this week there's still a surprising amount of standing water around. Especially on the firetrail by the school. The sections after the playground are also rather damp. In fact... yes... there's a lot of damp patches.
Am giving this 'Amber' though as it's not as bad as it has been.

... or just post a ride if you know you're going and see who shows.
Although the forecast isn't looking great
Will do!
I did some laps Sunday arvo and was surprised at the amount of puddles. Of concern was the number of new tracks appearing next to the puddles.
Not saying this trail update was marked green, but some many ppl think that if a trail is semi-dry then, it's good to go..![Sad Sad](https://nobmob.com/sites/all/modules/smileys/packs/Example/sad.png)
They forget about track widening that happens way too often do to 'the odd puddle here and there'.
Again, this depends on the nature of the trail i.e. single track versus fire trail...
I don't feel any great guilt making tracks around the edges of puddles on NPWS and council fire trails that get severely "slashed" as a cheap means of trail maintenance. This completely indiscriminate mangling of flora, fauna, rocks and even things like manhole covers that this entails makes any mtb wheel marks around the edges of a puddle a thing of little consequence.
However, a purpose built mtb track is another thing altogether....
