Drying out pretty well. Avoid wet areas like the big dipper and the black run over the big boulders. What's it called? The whole track down to the boulders is slippery mud and riding it will just carve it out. All the rain has done done nasty work on what for me were passable trails now need a dismount because of big washouts and gutters. Anyone have a spare bobcat in their shed?

Still fun to be had, you just have to know your way around.

Do you have more information?

If you've ridden here lately please add a more recent report. This will be useful even if the condition is the same as updates expire after 30 days.

wet & yucky in others!-hey Lenny have we heard anymore about this place,as in LMCC supporting this place?-spoke to a couple of blokes who would love to run a race or event here for the Starlight Foundation-Mark & Ryan were blown away by the place-even though they have only seen about 50% of the tracks!!!!

If LMCC means Lake Maquarie City Council then there's no chance because Jesmond is in the Newcastle City LGA. Most of the area is designated parkland under the Council and considering their meager budget for parks and gardens I wouldn't think there would be any support for improving the trails without significant volunteer support. Some of the bush is RTA easement which just makes it more complicated. Occasionally the fire trails are repaired but the last coordinated single effort happened way back in 1988 for the Australian bicentennial. I'll put my hand up to help out, but it really needs some heavy machinery to fix up the worst of it.

I could get a few volunteers to help out with some trail maintenance.

it is NCC but I guess we cannot do anything til the by-pass is built or we just maybe do something in terms of trailwork by ourselves(no machines) at the moment-this does not help Ryan & Mark with their plans-but hey council elections are up this year are they not?-lets hit some candidates up for what we can!!!

Have met with NCC about this before and it is a possibility but not a probability with council prepared to contribute very little at this stage.

However I was hoping we would achieve something in this lifetime, not have to wait til after the bypass goes in!!!

At my Jesmond Bushland Trail Map i have named it stump after the stump at the start of the trail. It does need some work in some places but other then that it is an amazing trail! My favourite run is to do Stump, the Walking Trail and pop out on the cycleway! I am very keen to help fix up Jesmond trails a bit. They need work but a bobcat would be helpful but not a nessicity. Face it, non of us will EVER see that bypass. Its not going to happen.
