Lane Cove National Park update for 20 May

Area:
Lane Cove National Park
Status:
Amber/Some Issues Main trail from Gloucester Ave through to Devlins Ck track is now pretty good, with only a few damp bits. Some more erosion around the new causeway on Devlins, and a big tree down just upstream from the Day Rd track junction. Didn't go past there. A couple of real smelly sections on Devlins, must be some sewer pipe leaks...

....washed out in a few places, you are going to get wet, cold feet on the creek crossings up there. The run back down to the Comenara from Christies oval. Is rutted as well. Best part of LNCP.
JP were they your tracks I followed yesterday up the asteroid belt?
where is this Christies Oval of which you speak??
I didn't ride there yesterday.
Christies oval is up behind Fox Valley Shops, near the old convict cobble stone road.
It is reached by heading up the "asteroid belt" which is the the first track on the left after the Pennant hills park track heading towards Browns water hole, directly after the steep concrete creek crossing. You also need to link up a couple of fire tracks, ride through a couple of parks to get there. Not easy to describe here. Perhaps I can show you one weekend.
can see it on a map now, but have never been up there. Would be keen to take up your offer of a guided tour at some stage. A bit of variety in LCNP would be good!
If your around this weekend Sat or Sun morning , I could take you for a tour, will involve a bit of road riding to link it backup.
Bewared a least 3 creek crossings, the first is the deepest you will get wet feet, abit of sand as well, a few climbs. But well worth the effort.
JP if your around, your more than welcome, just take easy on me on some of the climbs.
I'd be keen for Sunday morning if it's not too wet.
thanks, but doing the Rock Wallaby this weekend, so don't want to hit up LCNP hills at the moment. Could do next Saturday morning (2 June) , or pretty free the following weekend. Haven't been up through the asteroid belt for a while, so I imagine those creek crossings look a bit different with some of the deluges over recent months.
JP Sunday morning what time? Meet at the bottom of the Pennant hills climb? Hopefully the weather improves, got wet feet up there last weekend.
Lach can't next weekend away at Port Mac, was supposed to be riding the MTB Festival, before it got canned.
How about 7:30 at the bottom of Pennant Hills climb?
