Perimeter Trail / Nerang Trail are both still closed due to the burns. At this stage the RFS is planning more burns for this weekend starting Friday morning so the trail will be closed for a while still.

WTF? Did they forget to take the signs down or CBF'd removing them and putting them back up? Or is there a legitimate reason?

So many questions...

This is a new sign, it only went up in the last 24 hours..

The major burn was last week with most of the site mopped up by Saturday, however as the burn wasn't completed a team went in to hit some patches in the valley towards smiths creek on Monday evening. This area is still slowly burning and is being monitored by the local RFS / Parks & Wildlife.

Due to the fact that there are still numbers of large fire trucks operating on the trail and the operation is still ongoing it is understandable that they want to minimise the risks.

Edit: They have also had a helicopter water bombing in there on Thursday.

I thought it was a weekend only operation. Hadn't noticed any smoke up there this week. They'll be having fun with today's wind....

Cheers for the update. Eye-wink
