started from wakehurst parkway, a few other riders out there. Very wet and slippery. I was surprised it was open

If you were surprised it was open this implies you know why riding after heavy rain is bad. So why would you ride regardless?

Just because someone in the council has dropped the ball and not updated their status doesn't mean we can't exercise our own common sense Sad

Other people were there, it had a green status, I even posted on it to find out if it was open. Won't do it again but I'm from uk where we ride any conditions. Maybe there should be more communication with council to stop people going there when it's wet? Signage maybe? If there was a sign saying do not ride when wet I would have simply gone home.

Yeah, these are fair points.

The council should really put up information signs explaining why riding in the wet is bad.

[ insert jovial quip about riding in the UK and how it constantly rains there Eye-wink ]

If There's signs on the trail telling us to slow down and give way to walkers i think there can be signs about "why not to ride in the wet"

In the uk, when riding in snow and you fall off it's not snow angels, more like snow drunks Eye-wink
