Green/Open Western Sydney Parklands FB page now has it open! Having said that, there does seem to be more than a couple of comments in social media of the preponderance of brown snakes out there....
Do you have more information?

There are certainly brown snakes at Wylde but I doubt there would be any more than anywhere similar. I came across a 1.5m one near Powerline Paddock last week (I think we scared each other equally !) but that is only the second one in about 50 laps I have done there so please do not think you will see one every lap.
By comparison, Mt Annan, which has similar types of terrain and vegetation also has brown snakes which I see regularly. Not that I am running a 'snake count' but there are some other places I ride in Sydney where I seem to stumble across snakes more often.
Most snake encounters I have had last about one second and we both get on with our day. I have also had a couple of occasions where I have seen the snake in time to pull up at a safe distance and have sat there watching them do their thing - they are interesting to watch and remind you that they are not waiting in the bushes to attack unsuspecting mountain bikers.
Snakes are a very small negative of riding in Australia but I do not let them stop my enjoyment of being on the bike in the bush.
As I tend to ride alone I always have two elastisised bandages in the Camelback just in case.
